TIL there is a company out there called Booz Allen (I only know those because apparently they're laying off a bunch of people... as is the norm now, I suppose)

just finished a showing of Sinners... definitely one of my top movies of the year. a solid 7/10, highly recommend starts off a little slow, but that second act has some *incredible* build-up. it ends alright, but the movie definitely peaks when it's 3/4 through its runtime.

this looks incredible can't wait to see more from the the next generation of AR applications

April (C)ools! I'm participating in #aprilcools club for the first time this year, taking a break from the technical for something a bit more philosophical: sadman.ca/posts/find-j...

I've been on a call with AWS support engineers for 2 hours now, and honestly, those folks deserve a medal — or at least a really strong coffee.

Holy the custom feeds in @bsky.app blow me away every time (and I'm always finding new ones I'm interested in!) It's like someone took the idea of subreddits and baked it into Twitter (without the algorithmic feed pushing rando stuff you're just not interested in). This is the future.

I need everybody to move from Twitter to Bluesky already. I love the cool stuff people make and post on Twitter but I hate what the site represents nowadays. The random GIFs that are put in my Twitter feed don't help either.

Oh my god I have just learned that the "standalone" spy thrillers by Mick Herron actually connect back to the Slough House universe. I literally just finished the latest book in the series and started reading something different. Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in.

Just finished binge-reading a fun, witty spy series (Slough House). Now I've started the dystopian horror that is Tender Is the Flesh, because apparently I like my genre shifts to feel like falling down an elevator shaft.

Just published a new guide on using your Goodreads data in Astro! #astrojs + #goodreads = ❤️ Learn how to use the Content Loader API to fetch data from your Goodreads shelf RSS feeds. Some cool examples of how I use this on my site (sadman.ca) are included too! sadman.ca/posts/how-to...

Does anyone know if there is an AT protocol version app similar to Instagram or anything actively being developed? #bluesky @atproto.com # - we wanna dump instagram but its nice to be able to share some photos with just friends/family, etc. #developers #atproto #atprotocol

Just finished the first episode of #Severance S2. (I was going to wait for tonight but I just couldn't wait anymore) It's amazing, we are so back.

I've been waiting for S2 of #Severance for so long that I didn't even realize the first episode aired last night. I am SO looking forward to watching it tonight.

Just won a race with the subway train doors (got in before they closed; my 100m sprint skills from high school came in clutch). Hard to think of anything more satisfying at the moment.

Just saw that the tech I use for my blog got an upgrade today (Astro 5.0!). Looks like my personal website is about to get another makeover.

Astro 5.0 is here. Content layer, server islands, simplified prerendering, type-safe env, @vite.dev v6. All stable. Go see what you can do 👇 astro.build/blog/astro-5/

A moment of silence for fellow Real-Debrid users. AllDebrid’s 7-day free trial and Premiumize’s Black Friday sale should tide things over for now.

So I got the Flu shot and my umpteenth COVID booster on Saturday. 7/10 do not recommend, was still nursing a headache, sore arms, and the onset of a fever well into Sunday night (which forced me to go to bed early, thankfully I'm feeling back to normal today).

You are up to date.
