Naturally, this leads to all kinds of problems, often with the law, that could probably be handled better, but his stubbornness is definitely part of the problem, too. 🤷

As mentioned a few posts earlier, when Octavius runs out of magic, he becomes pretty much helpless, as both his eyes and his right arm need magic to function. Most of the time, he runs away before things get too bad, but if escape isn't an option, he won't give up and will fight until the very end.

Octavius isn't evil, but doing morally questionable things isn't exactly helping people see him as a good person, either. Social norms are weird to him, and he often doesn't understand (or simply doesn't want to accept) what is and isn't acceptable.

Octavius can see and use his right arm thanks to the magic, which allowed him to restore what he lost, but he has to actively sustain it with magic (not just "it required a lot of energy and knowledge once, but since it's done, I don't have to think about it anymore").

This means both his eyesight and his arm can stop working completely if he runs low on mana. So yeah, sometimes it makes things way more complicated than they should be. Going blind in battle is definitely not something you want. ...Yes, I like to torment my characters xD.
