And so begins our story on the Origins of the iPod. I loved making this series so much, and I cannot wait for you to hear all five parts.

Designed in California 13: The MP3 Revolution (Part 1, Origin of the iPod) Two decades after the Walkman had revolutionized personal audio, a new compressed digital audio format emerged that would redefine how we listen to music. We kick off our series about the or... http://relay.fm/designed/13

bluesky rocks dude. i have given a lot of thought to this argument, though, over the past year or so (see attached) idk i could be wrong about it.

I built Light Touch, a full-featured iPod touch 2G emulator for Mac. Networking + Wayback Machine proxy, GLES/3D games support, a built-in app store via legacystore.app, rotation, screen capture, the works. Have fun github.com/samhenrigold...

they had a german parade in NYC today and it was a bunch of lederhosen and beer steins, but I was hoping to see different representation. like a float consisting entirely of six trash bins and extremely detailed instructions about which one to use. or a Bosch dishwasher balloon.

i want to eventually get The Big Beautiful Notification but i’m unwilling to have news alerts on for everything up until then. can some news agency just have a newswire service that only lights up for when It Happens

When I was younger, I didn't know about common law, and I thought when America declared independence, we just started from scratch and someone had to sit down and start writing a list like “Alright, number one, no murder. What else, what else…”

ben franklin is poking his finger at jefferson's cheek, jefferson snaps and bites his finger, franklin goes "OW GODDAMN IT NO BITING" "it's not a law yet i can do whatever i want"

The Duo will have a big impact on the app ecosystem. iPad layouts always took second billing, but now that iPhone-only apps are forced to support larger screens, I imagine more effort will go into bigger layouts. And at that point, they might as well enable native iPad support.

if you're having trouble remembering how to develop for the iPhone Duo, remember this useful phrase: "Somebody Rearranged Aunt Vera's Bones During Mass" Size classes Reserved regions Arrangements Vertical bars Badges in tab bar Displacement regions Main screen is dead

alright a couple people got it directionally but not in full fidelity. Lion DP1, you could set `defaults write com.apple.dock springboard-left-of-finder -bool YES` and get this. that first Lion beta build is absolutely chock full of experimental UI behind flags.

$50 donation to st judes in the name of whoever can guess this trivia: there was exactly one (1) build of Mac OS X that would let you move something to the left of Finder in the dock. Tell me what you think it was and what could be moved.
