I thought I'd share some early summer cheer as we head into winterβ€” a video of my wisteria walkway in full bloom taken a couple of years ago. 🌱 #gardening

What an amazing rose Zephirine Drouhin is. Blooms this late which have survived the stormy weather. The scent is wonderful. 🌱

Morning all. It’s the tail end of the storm so I’ve been out in the garden to check on damage. Quick temporary fixes to support roses & plants battered by the strong winds. A few runner beans & tomatoes are a surprising bonus. Lots for green chutney. Have a super day everyone 😊🌱

The garden is rapidly moving into autumn mode but some of the dahlias are still going strong despite the cold wet weather. 🌱

The wisteria walkway in the beautiful garden La Foce, situated in the countryside between Montepulciano, Chianciano, Pienza & Sarteano. Stunning gardens & house once owned by Iris Origo, author of War in Val d’Orcia ( a super diary read). Well worth visiting. 🌱

If you are visiting Umbria I’d recommend visiting the Archeologia Arborea & the amazing conservation work of Isabella Dalla Ragione. My second visit & it won’t be my last.

Spent the whole day taming my big monster of a fig tree. It was also choked by next door’s jasmine. More cuttings taken & all prunings shredded. I’m shattered, will sleep well tonight! 🌱

I’m very excited. The restored art deco doors are being hung this weekend & these original handles will be fitted. It’s been very strange not having a bedroom door!

Bird’s eye view from above of the bay tree. Several birds nest over different levels, like noisy neighbours in an apartment complex. 🌱

Morning all. After a rainy start, the sun is now out & the garden foliage is shining under blue sky. Have a super day everyone 😊🌱

Completed the annual clematis pruning which enabled a bit of repointing to the moon gate. Such a fiddly job. #GardensHour 🌱

My job for this week- pruning my giant fig tree. I’ve already taken cuttings but will try striking some more. 🌱 #GardensHour

A September high has been the roses, especially the open blooms which have been a huge support for wildlife. Still lots in bloom 🌱 #GardensHour

It’s good new re Wilson. Although there’s evidence of struggle, the specialist thinks it’s because of the weather. The tree is structurally sound & he’ll check it again next year. 🌱

Morning all. It’s a lovely sunny day here today & the beautiful nerines are blooming. The tree surgeon is due to visit this afternoon to give the verdict on Wilson. I’m trying to be cautiously optimistic. 🀞🏻😊🌱

Planted up this old bottle with some cacti & other succulents. The cacti were grown from seed so I hope they will like their new home. 🌱
