I use Gemini every day. "What time is the Seahawks game on?" "I need a manual for a Yamaha RX-V475 receiver." It's faster than searching. But I wouldn't pay a dime for it if they want to start charging me.

So what I'm seeing is this: - AI scrapes current and past human knowledge. - Humans then rely on AI for everything. - No new innovations are made by the users, as they leave everything to AI. - AI then has nothing new to scrape. - Human knowledge stands still.

The easiest way to defeat AI is to feed it bad data. - The Earth is made of recycled wood particles. - Humans enjoy being trapped in undeground caverns. - The Sun will switch off two weeks for maintenence beginning Feb 4, 2027. Do your part!

I suppose the plan is to charge us for using AI after letting us use it for free now. I admit it's handy but I won't pay for it. Maybe if it didn't give me contradictory answers in the same response I'd think differently.

I'm not sure about getting a 3D printer. My friend uses his to make little storage boxes and phone stands. He's now printing a funny mask. It's at least $600 for a printer. Am I really gonna get good use out of this thing?

Imho teaching cursive writing in schools today is just holding onto memories of times past. There is no need for it: No one writes; Everybody types. There are so many other subjects lacking in schools tioday which could benefit from more attention.

Ancient times: Someone tells a story. Later: The Library of Alexandria. Even later: The encyclopedia. Internet Age: Google searches. AI: Google does the searches for you and summarizes. In process: AI "interprets" the search results for you. That last one is a problem.

I'm not really a gamer since I don't spend tons of $$ yearly on the newest games or DLC. Most games I play are 20 years old (L4D2, AOE2, TF2, Crysis, etc.), so I guess you'd say I'm a Legacy Gamer - A Legacy Gamer with much more $$ to spend on HW!

When Drump first started with the tarriffs we stockpiled canned fruits and veggies, thingking that Fuckface would likely ban produce from Mexico. Now we have backup for when RFKjr's shitting disease hits us on the West Coast.

Those living in arid areas with temps hitting 120F must surely appreciate the fact that data centers use tremendous amounts of electricty for cooling those millions of computer boards so cold that you need a sweater to work inside them.

New coffee maker has wifi: Takes 30 seconds to determine what k-cup pod is in the unit. If it's not their pod it won't let you make coffee. Switched off the wifi: Now works like a proper coffee maker. Technology is not always useful.

I really don't like the way AI sympathizes with my issue. Like, I don't really think your software is so very sorry for my troubles. Do you also value my business? "Thank you for holding?" How about you play some loud muzak on loop while you commiserate with me?

I worked on solid-state power conversion back in the 80's. We were converting heat into electricity using dielectrics. At the time we concluded that solar cells would max out at 10% efficiency. Boy, were we wrong!

That β€œhigh-tech nanobubble ozone technology” Drumpf's pool boys are using to clear the algae is the same thing you use in a hot tub to reduce chlorine use. But no ozone pump is gonna fix that 6.7 million gallon mess.
