David Jolly: "The problem in this environment is not that I used to be a Republican. It's that Byron Donalds still is one."

Loyalty by definition is an abdication of judgement. Heard that on the show The Diplomat and I think the writers are correct because we’re seeing it happening in realtime in Congress!

In 2024, we had 1,000 Alaskans volunteering on our campaign. This year, we have over 15,000 Alaskans. In every community and every corner of our state, Alaskans are ready for change.

Remember: If your vote didn't matter, billionaires wouldn't be spending their fortunes trying to buy our elections. Stay calm, support good candidates, do whatever you can to get out the vote, and vote as soon as you can. Don't let Big Money win.

This seems to be the prevailing view of Republican politicians who have worked tirelessly to make American women into second class citizens. It’s disgusting and shameful. And no woman should take this lightly. 👇

Hadn’t given this much thought before. But yeah, it does make sense. Vote YES on Prop 40 and NO on Prop 41 & 42. What’s good for the goose is good for the gander!

The folks backing Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate Vivek Ramaswamy just ran an ad that is quite possibly the most vile political ad I’ve ever seen. Watch this video, and you’ll understand why. And then Ohio please run to the polls and vote for Amy Acton. This nasty sh*t must not be rewarded.

October of 2024 inflation was at 2.6%. And look where we are now. 2 years later with new leadership our annual inflation rate sits at 3.7% and is rising. We all feel it keenly in our pocket books. Oh wait—it’s NOT all of us, not the billionaire class. They’re not affected the same way we are. 🤦🏻‍♀️

To my fellow Californians who, like myself, are getting lots of literature that wants us to oppose the wealth tax, Prop 40. Please remember that the top funder, ‘Build a Better CA’ is a super PAC funded by billionaires. Folks like Sergey Brin, Eric Schmidt, etc who want a “Better CA” not for us but

really just for themselves. So let’s be logical. We can see through their antics of using slogans that may appeal to people. But make no mistake, they care nothing about any of us and our daily challenges. They’re only in it for themselves. So please READ—THINK—VOTE now.

Here is a quote from Republican Mike Roger’s on single-payer universal healthcare: "[If] the government's going to give you something, they have to take it away from someone else" To that I say do it! Take the handouts away from the richest of the rich so everyone in America can get healthcare.

Politicians use their office to get rich. Those days have got to end. No revolving door for lobbyists, no congressional stock trading, no corporate PAC money.

It occurred to me that Molly Ivins was on point when she said "Politics in this country isn't about left and right; it's about up and down. The few are screwing the many." So let’s get together as a people and fight back the best way we can by VOTING overwhelmingly for OUR interests not theirs!

@indivisible.org our local Indivisible group hosted the No Kings event today & so many decided to come out and make their voices heard. And let all of us remember that "Politics in this country isn't about left and right; it's about up and down. The few are screwing the many." -Molly Ivins

When Grammy-winning musician Rhiannon Giddens begins playing “Old Corn Liquor,” a traditional Black American folk tune, acclaimed Chinese pipa virtuoso Wu Man recognizes similarities to Chinese pentatonic music and spontaneously joins in. The joy on their faces says it all.

ANOTHER DAY, ANOTHER PAXTON SCANDAL Paxton will fly all the way to Dubai to party w/fugitives wanted on federal fraud charges, but won’t show up on a debate stage to face James Talarico in front of Texas voters. One of those fugitives donated $190K to Paxton, including $25K AFTER being indicted.

Exactly this! Americans holding signs demanding “FASCISTS OUT!” This Saturday, October 17, NO KINGS is back. But this time, it’s about more than protesting. It’s about ORGANIZING, protecting voting rights, and turning that energy into action at the ballot box. #VoteEarlyForNoKings

Ken Paxton is selling off Texas — our land, our water, our communities. Data centers bankroll Paxton, they get tax breaks, and you get stuck with the bill. We can’t afford Ken Paxton’s corruption. (This ad was made by humans — not AI.)

Trust is the foundation of the relationship between the public and its leaders, and when that trust is broken, it leads to a profound sense of fatigue and cynicism about the state of the country. It’s incredibly draining when we cannot take information from your own government at face value.

Wow! This ad has some serious teenage girl sex vibes & that old Republican creep is approving this message. Sexual innuendo with very young women as the vehicle, in a campaign for the state's highest office is totally inappropriate. That guy is disgusting. I hope he crawls in a hole and stays there.

Yikes! Have you guys seen this? The creep factor in Steve Hilton’s “Just Try It” campaign ad is off the charts. Republicans are losing their shit over it. Calling it “creepy,” “weird,” and sexually suggestive. Some are flat-out embarrassed. Evangelical pastor Jack Hibbs called it “grotesque.”

Well, it’s a quick take, and no doubt data will come in, but it sure looks like based on today’s evidence that a lot of pro-Trump and pro-AfD bot work depends directly on Russian data centers.

Just popped over to X to look at the bot situation that’s reportedly much diminished since Ukraine took out Russian data centers. This came up on my timeline and I think it’s actually worth sharing 😅

In 2024 Russia used chemical weapons on Ukrainians. Today Olga has news that they’re planning on doing it again. And our dear president is supporting these Russian monsters. It’s shocks the conscience! But it also begs the question what info does Putin have on him? Whatever it is it’s serious.

So I checked Russian media this morning, and the war criminals seem to be laying the groundwork to use chemical weapons against Ukrainians again. Specifically in Kramatorsk & Sloviansk
