So PSPP, as our Premier and leader of the PQ, working towards some kind of antiquated, anti-British/anti-colonial political movement that has long since become an historical artifact, please bear in mind that this is TOTALLY yesteryear's fight, and you're now Trump's latest pussy touch and own.

Pas très responsable, Plamondon.

Patricia Tessier@patriciatessier.bsky.social

The only reason I can think of for this news not being absolutely everywhere is that large media orgs don’t want to be seen as putting their thumbs on the scales a week before election day. And that’s cowardly as shit.

Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva won Brazil's presidential runoff for a fourth, non-consecutive term, the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) has confirmed the victory. CONGRATULATIONS BRAZIL and congratulations Lula.

Lula wins Brazil election! Stops Latin America right wing wave!

Here in Canada, my amazing Grade 9 English teacher assigned this book, which takes place in a foreign but familiar country, knowing we could handle it and it would help us grow. And because it's a fantastic literary achievement. Sad doesn't begin to express my feelings to learn of this.

Stacey Shepherd@stacey-shepherd.bsky.social

He's right, except PSPP is just as small-minded as his Albertan counterparts, yet much more dangerous.

Scott Robertson@sarobertson.bsky.social

John Ibbitson compares Alberta and Quebec separatist movements: "What you don't have in Alberta is that deep-seated nationalist sense, and what you don't have is that quality of leadership. These are, I hate to say it, very petty men."

My next door neighbour is a dude from India who came here 35 years ago and raised a family here and still works his fucking ass off day after day in menial labour and he's so fucking proud his son and new wife now own a triplex in LaSalle he had to tell me about it all drunk as hell.

And now I sense that's all turned upside down. He has never been like this. I tried to reassure him Quebec will never leave Canada. We fucking ARE Canada! The rest of this beautiful country is a blossoming flower that blossomed from our roots, built on a 1000-year+ tradition of indigenous peoples.

And I only moved here in 2021 and he's been wicked shy with us this whole time cuz he still knows no french and only limited english, but he came to my door this evening, offering his wife's samosas, and he's big-time worried about Quebec separation, what with the recent PQ win and all...

He'd been drinking (like so many of us) because the whole world's never really made sense his whole life, but it kinda made a sense we could all work with once we understood its well-understood inconsistencies, and found our own little corners to live fully and safely in.

Begging your pardons fellow Habs fan worry-warts, but even without Suzuki, (and with Florian Xhekaj sitting) we have five legit centres - 91, 15, 24, 71, 62 - on the ice tonight. Less than ideal, but not a crisis situation, franchement.

Trump spent the entire Biden presidency ensuring every GOP candidate and enough sitting Senators were all his, and escaping jailtime by dragging out his felony convictions until he'd secured the nomination for POTUS. Other GOPs were all pushed out by then. Biden should've expanded SCOTUS to 13 too.

Angry@angrystaffer.bsky.social

It’s crazy. I never would have thought so many guardrails would just completely fail.

Vance to assume more duties, to allow POTUS more golf and R&R time, fewer boring Oval Office events to sleep through. Probably on Putin's advice.

Olga Nesterova@onestpress.onestnetwork.com

Trump and Vance are scheduled to make an announcement on Tuesday at 1:30pm ET.

Every day Hegseth proves he's an even bigger lying asshole than you thought he was the day before.

Motherfucker has spent his entire career shitting on the country he says he wants to lead, sowing discontent and division and NOW he wants to be a uniter? I truly wish he’d fuck off to whatever board or think tank job is waiting for him.

Good night, dear friends. Thank you for caring about Ukraine, for your prayers, your help, your support, and for keeping Ukraine in your hearts. Thank you for standing with us, for not looking away, and for reminding us that we are not alone.

U.S. Senator thinks his state's wine is so fine Canadians who don't find it on the shelf will just say: "oh well, no wine tonight then." Like we won't buy wines from elsewhere? I guess POTUS is right about one thing: Dumbacrats exist.

Sen. Adam Schiff@schiff.senate.gov

Without American wine on Canadian shelves, Canadians are also missing out on tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue they would obtain from selling our wine.

Kinda wild that there have been wild protests going on in Albania for months set off by a corrupt Kushner luxury resort project and there has been barely coverage of it here 🇺🇸 and Trump never gets asked about it.

Strong statement. Tusk knows how to read between the lies.

Polish PM Tusk: Anyone who, through betrayal, stupidity or for money, seeks to weaken Ukraine in its defense against Russian aggression is acting directly against their own people, their country’s security and its sovereignty.

It might stave off some of the fire within the Scottish independance movement as well.

Burnham started his much-needed assault on Brexit yesterday by confirming Russian interference in the vote. Now this: “In a statement to MPs, Andy Burnham will argue it is time to "face up to the reality that Brexit has done more harm than good" and "the status quo is not good enough for Britain."”
