A movie used to get several months in the theatres. Now it feels like it gets a few weeks before it gets shoved to digital and then streaming unless it is a big moneymaker.
That's also not considering how shitty and lazy marketing is now. Especially for originals.
I blame the executives.
It's frustrating that a movie needs to make a bajillion dollars at the opening weekend box office, otherwise it is automatically deemed a failure no matter how good it is.
And it doesn't help that movies now get very short theatrical windows so it doesn't have the chance to succeed.
ugh all these movies shot with digital cameras -- so dull and lifeless, desaturated flat gray sludge amirite
"Wild Horse Nine" (2026), shot on Alexa (digital)
People ask me what my favorite movie is and I tell them that that is a complicated question. And so they say what’s your favorite Disney movie and I say Turning Red. It was an amazing film and really spoke to me I like so related not sure why just did

It's always funny how all these right-wingers who love to project how "tough" they are turn out to be the most performative and whiny manbabies the second they face any criticism.
Brazil and Hungary both saw their authoritarian leaders ousted this year.
And Trump and the Cons are looking for a historic upset.
The only reason you don't think anyone "stops" them is because you *want* them to win.
In case anyone had any doubt that this "Malfoid" shit is incredibly astroturfed.
Hell, everything about the TERF wizard series this time around feels so forced, corporate, and astroturfed.
