Scott Soeder | Kidlit Illustrator

#kidlitartpostcard growing up if I wasn’t drawing, I was banging on the drums. My parents kept me supplied with pencils and drumsticks for fear that If I ran out, that energy would be applied toward considerable mischief. They were probably right.

Happy #kidlitartpostcard day! The idea for this piece came from watching football. No kidding. I watched a Baltimore Ravens game. Turns out their name is inspired by Poe. So I imagined Poe as a 12 year old boy gathering inspiration for his future work… which inspired NFL team. #kidlitart #poe

Well, it is #kidlitartpostcard day once again! This piece is about making music with your friends! I have enjoyed playing music with friends for most of my life. #kidlitartpostcard #music #middlegrade #kidlitart #kidlitillustrator #illustratorauthor #childrensillustration #childrensillustrator

Noodling a bit on a comic project, experimenting with some color. I like to use markers, watercolor and colored pencil to work things out. Probably not the most efficient way, but I usually move back forth between traditional and digital. #messingaround #havefun #kidlitart

Series I’m currently reading. Pretty fun. Kind of a hybrid graphic novel, sort of like Bad Guys. Anybody read it?

A few shots around the studio. Still have flooring to do, but it’s coming together.

Hi #kidlit folks! Just joined Blue Sky! I'm an illustrator (who is writing) who enjoys comics, music, humor with wry wit. Some favorite classic children's books are Danny and the Dinosaur, Go Dog Go! Really too many to name. I'm working on re-doing my studio so I'll post some pics of that soon.
