Not AI, my stuff just kinda looks like that I guess. Photo sourced from 1940s.nyc, who have helpfully organized the photos in the NYC Municipal Archive. This is the only piece where I think I've captured the look of 1930s New York, but it's kind of cheating. Also not feasible for a comic, probably

I'm letting comments about AI get to my head. I spent a week working on a piece, and now that it's done, I keep thinking, "this looks like AI". Maybe it's the warm colour palette, or the aged filters I use, but even a few of those detector websites think it's AI...

Redid the lines and colours multiple times over the course of a couple months in an attempt to save this one. I still think it's a little weak. Marie blends into the background too much.

Wish I wasn't too lazy/careless to actually study art fundamentals. I feel like knowing how to draw might be important for somebody who wants to make comics.

I really wanna get better at drawing simple, appealing backgrounds before I draw any more comic pages. I also need to get better at making sure the canvas isn't flipped when I draw buttons on shirts and coats. I screw that up *a lot*
