Lots of artist friends of mine have been talking about the OoT remake today and the direction of its character design. It got me to sketch an old idea I've held that a Zelda game would do great fully embracing a Rankin-Bass puppet sort of character design :P

Hello everyone! Work has been extremely busy and life has been quite transitional so far this year, I apologize for being so absent as a result. I've got a lot that I want to publish share, just need the spare time and resources to work on it all. Come September I'm hoping to seize such a chance.

FIRE WATCHERS still has 9 days in its Kickstarter campaign!! I wrote the music for this little short with the cast 😄

d&d with the fire watchers gang...

I'm getting a chance to work with the lovely people at ChickenCOOP on a very fun project. Please check them out!! Makes me proud to work with them that they make this stance known 😄

Hello everyone who's followed recently! Apologies for being radio silent, we're just really busy making stuff for you! Right now in addition to a few unannounced projects, we're making a game! As always, we will not now, or ever, use AI! That's our coop promise to you! -@joannablackhart.com

I forgot to enable Clip Studio Paint's timelapse feature when I painted Warhammer Bowser for the latest arrangement's thumbnail, so instead, I put together a little video of each layer being added in roughly the order I painted them!

Mainly used CSP's default gouache brush for this to give every surface some nice painterly grit. And nearly every layer got a pipeline of: 1. Multiply layer for primary shadows 2. Multiply layer for (heavy) ambient occlusion 3. Add layer for specular highlights and red rim lighting

I have one more Outer Wilds fan art to share, the toughest thing I've ever painted... (spoilers for a late-game character!) The painting of Solanum I used in the new video comes from my painting of her with Rauru from Tears of the Kingdom, two characters with a lot coincidentally in common!

To elaborate my point (spoilers!): They're both ludicrously fashionable three-eyed goat people from ancient but technologically advanced civilizations (whose names are two letters apart: Zonai, Nomai) who befriend and guide the protagonist despite being not quite alive nor dead.

// Outer Wilds: Echoes of the Eye minor area spoilers More Outer Wilds fan art I've made, this one was particularly fun to paint 😄 "Mario, I believe we've strayed well outside Isle Delfino..."

You guessed it: my next What I Love video is going to be about Outer Wilds, a game I treasure and have been planning to talk about for a while. All plans proceeding accordingly, the video will be ready this week! Leading up to that, this week I'll be sharing some past Outer Wilds fan art I've made!

Working on the next What I Love video... Wonder what this model could be for...

I tried this out: quite a fun way to think about my favorite pieces of Super Mario music! 😄 I've somewhat tired myself out on the Mario Kart 8 soundtrack, but I still think it hit the strongest of any Mario soundtrack for me. They got such a tight band, sounds like it was a blast to perform in it.
