I mean this in the nicest possible way but can 'hot honey' piss off yet? I was fine when 'salted caramel' was the new big thing, and I don't care for 'pumpkin spiced' but at least that stayed mainly coffee-adjacent. This honey pish is getting fired around all over the shop

Another cool wee bundle here, this time for puzzle-heads. I'd personally recommend Superliminal, Botany Manor and Lost in Play. You'd get all three for £9.99.

Three cool wee additions coming next week. Mole Mania is interesting because of the pedigree behind it, Revenge of the Gator was a personal favourite as a child (though everyone else will likely care less because it's pretty basic) and Avenging Spirit is a bit of a hidden gem.

This is a shame because I adored how cool the new VCS looked, but it never really figured out what it wanted to be. This new official Homebrew App that Atari's promised could give it an interesting second wind - I dare say this thing's about to get a bunch of emulators

Atari is ending support for its 2021 VCS console. The company promises to keep it working by releasing an OS update that removes any reliance on a server, as well as a Homebrew App which lets players continue making and installing games. www.videogameschronicle.com/news/atari-i...

Desperation stage here! As mentioned on the podcast, I was literally at an Xbox appointment at Gamescom when the green X25 Series X consoles went up for preorder, and they were gone by the time I left. If anyone sees them again, or preordered one and no longer wants it, please do let me know.

Nintendo Switch Sports Resort has come at the worst possible time in my life, when I really don't need a packed single-player mode with loads of things to collect. Sadly, I'm loving it - here's my review.

Couldn't be prouder of how our first VGC Live went. The reaction to the show was great, and getting to hang out with so many members of the VGC Patreon and Discord community was even better. Such a fantastic weekend.

I know this is an affiliate link so it's easy for me to say "wow what a deal doodz" but there's genuinely some good stuff in here. My personal recommendation is RoboCop: Rogue City, Rain World, Under the Waves, Nobody Wants to Die and Planescape Torment Enhanced Edition. Total cost: £5.99.

I hope you all like streaming your games over the cloud, because if this continues there's no incentive for developers to allow any of their code to be stored locally on your own PC or console, if this is what's going to happen to it.

We’re keeping ReVamp’s first playtest small for now. Here’s why.

I don't know if it's just because the methodology used is very persuasive, but now I've seen it I can't unsee it. Still got no clue what it means though

VGC Live is feeling real. We've had people flying over from the US, folk from England meeting with like-minded strangers and road tripping together - our Discord is full of photos of people becoming friends, eating fried Scottish food etc. No matter what happens tonight it's already a success ❤️

$150,000? I'd take two at that price, were it not a one-off

People will sneer at this because it's mostly hidden object games but it's still important to preserve all of them. Nobody should get to decide whose memories deserve to be retained. I miss Universal Film Mogul, a hidden object game that used to be on Facebook a decade+ ago. It's gone forever.

Brief glimpse at Metacritic suggests I’m in the minority with this one but ah well, it happens. I’m a big Castlevania fan (the original was one of the first NES games I got as a kid) and was very excited by this, but as amazing as it looks I felt I was going through the motions.

The only Christopher Columbus you should be celebrating today is the one who made Home Alone and Mrs Doubtfire. And even then you should probably only count the stuff he did in the 20th century

I do feel for whoever wrote that tweet a year and a half ago, because they clearly weren't expecting a Year 2 at that point.

I can’t decide what’s more tragic: the story itself, or the fact that not even the photo of himself is real, unless that cinema made a row of seats facing away from the screen

I LOVE that the Sanrio DLC in Sonic Racing Crossworlds isn’t just some generic cuddly place but the actual indoor theme park me and the family went to in Japan last year.

Can't stress enough how excellent this game is, and now that its price has been savaged before an extra year of content kicks off, there's no better time to get into it. (I mean, there was a better time, which was at launch, but unless you have a DeLorean this is now the best)

It's all very juvenile so you know what you're getting, but both games are currently 89p on Switch (down from £34.99) so if you want a couple of sex comedy point-and-clicks for dirt cheap then empty a load (of coins, obviously) into this

I maintain that PlayStation VR2 was the biggest scandal of this generation (from a consumer standpoint of course, not the obvious endless layoffs). £530 for something that effectively became unsupported from day one after the Horizon game came out.
