Voting should be as easy and accessible as possible, and we must protect every eligible voter's right to cast a ballot. Prop 39 is another Trump power grab that will make voting harder, less secure and more expensive for Californians. Protect your voting rights. Vote NO on Prop 39.

The Online Detainee Locator System allows anyone to enter someone's name and birth country to find out where they are being held. Now, ICE is targeting people with final orders of removal, making it difficult for them to seek legal representation and speak to families.

The ACLU and all 53 affiliates across the nation, including the ACLU-SDIC, are working in the courts, in the legislative houses and on the ground every day to protect our rights and democracy itself. We will continue this work until the Constitution’s promises are fully realized and expanded.

Adela Vázquez wore many hats. She worked for trans people to receive compassionate HIV/AIDS prevention and care; founded Las AtreDivas (the Daring Divas), a drag group that provided sex education; and took a chosen family under her wing. We applaud Adela's contributions as a queer, Latine advocate.

Everyone has the right to move freely without being surveilled. Last Tuesday, PANA, represented by ACLUF-SDIC, filed a complaint against the City of San Diego and the San Diego Police Department in response to the city’s unconstitutional automated license plate reader (ALPR) system.

We live in a country where families are being ripped apart by masked agents, immigrants and trans folks are being villainized by the federal government, and people are being prosecuted for simply seeking health care. San Diego's ALPR system is a dangerous tool that will aid this harmful agenda.

The Alien Enemies Act is a 228-year-old law that has only been used 3 times in American history during war. Recently, President Trump used this to justify the deportation of 100 men from Venezuela to a notorious prison in El Salvador. Learn more about the JGG v. Trump case at the link in our bio.

Dr. Tom Wong, associate professor of political science at UCSD, moderated our panel featuring civil rights experts Sophia Lin Lakin, director of the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project and David Trujillo, executive director of ACLU California Action.

Yesterday, the ACLU Foundation of San Diego & Imperial Counties (ACLUF-SDIC), PANA and TRUST SD announced at a press conference the ACLUF-SDIC and PANA's lawsuit against the City of San Diego and the San Diego Police Department over their use of automated license plate readers (ALPRs).

The city’s use of ALPR violates the California Constitution, which guarantees the people’s right to privacy. To the City of San Diego and the San Diego Police Department: we’ll see you in court. Read the full press release at www.aclu-sdic.org/press-releas...
