With the World Cup over, it's back to the real business, which is starting to ramp up now. As we look forward to 2 pre-season friendlies against foreign opposition, we look back to #OTD in 2003, when #BHAFC played #WFC in pre-season

I would have nominated Peter Ward as the next Dr Who if I'd seen that card in 1980.

On this day 2004, Adam Virgo delivers one of the best nights ever at Withdean. 2-1 down on aggregate to #stfc in injury time of extra time in the play-offs, he pops up with a diving header to send the game to pens. We all know what happened next. Magnificent #BHAFC #initgoes

From the golden age of football magazines, here is a Charles Buchan's Football Monthly supplement from Sep 1967. Results from 66/67 and the coming season's fixtures. No TV changes back then! Brilliant stuff. I lapped this stuff up when I was a boy

In May 1951, the Festival of Britain was in full swing and as part of the celebrations, #BHAFC played 3 friendlies at The Goldstone, including this one, against #AyrUnited. Albion won 5-1, with goals from Jimmy McNichol, Ray Garbutt (2), Frankie Howard and Jess Willard.

On this day 2021, there is a crowd inside The Amex for just the 3rd time in the season, as Covid restrictions are eased slightly. 7,945 scattered around the ground see #BHAFC beat #MCFC 3-2, thanks to goals from Leandro Trossard, Adam Webster and Dan Burn.

On this day 1977, #BHAFC round off their Division Three promotion season with a 1-1 draw against #spireites at Saltergate, watched by a crowd of 8,212. Peter Ward scores Albion's goal, his 36th of the season. Superb from Wardy, but a big mention for the team, who were fantastic

Angela Rayner was dragged through every front page for weeks... HMRC's verdict: NOT deliberate. NOT even careless. Farage pockets £5 million and chooses not to declare it So where's the wall-to-wall coverage? Tell me this isn't a rigged game.

On this day 2023, #BHAFC take a huge step towards European qualification for the first time in our history, with a superb 3-0 win against #AFC at The Emirates. Julio Enciso, Denis Undav and Pervis Estupinan are the scorers, in front of 2,986 Albion fans in the 60,139 crowd.

More from 'Nationwide Review', this time Issue 9, from the very end of the 96/97 season. It included a great article on #BHAFC's potential great escape, from ex-Albion striker Garry Nelson. Also a small mention of the unbelievable job down by Steve Gritt....

Just picked up a small job lot of 'Nationwide Review' magazines, a short-lived programme insert from the late 90s. Here's a taster of Issue 3, with Darlo Baz giving both barrels to #BHAFC fans, and a piece on whether video could help referees. How's that going btw.

Plus Perry Digweed saving a penalty! And apparently Barnsley had popped the champagne corks, thinking they'd got into the playoffs, then sent a congratulatory telegram (probably, pre- internet days). What a game.
