I really hate that Democrats have this big lead going into the midterms, but it's due to nothing they have said, or done, or offer. When they take power, we must push as hard as possible to make them work. The days of do nothing Democratic leadership are over.

Unpopular Opinion: If your child cannot read by the second grade... If your kid isn't potty trained by kindergarten... If your kid six year old can't recognise their own name, or know their colors, or count above 10... This is child neglect and it should be treated as such. Fuck lazy parents.

While desperately trying to escape the football madness at Gillette Stadium earlier, I found it hard not to wish the hordes of people all around us cared about democracy even half as much as their precious sporting events.

I really wish people would get that you don't pull out right in front of someone towing a 9k trailer; you don't stick your nose out into traffic ahead of me; you don't try to zipper merge with just my trailer; and you don't turn across two lanes to get ahead of me and then slam on the breaks.

I had a bunch of close calls yesterday, including an ass who felt he could "beat the train" to get into a dealership parking lot as I passed going about 50. Be smarter people... Towing a large trailer is no joke and they most definitely don't stop on dime or easily maneuver around your stupidity.

He gives us an illusion of "choice" to keep us distracted, but really the only choices we ever get are what the guy with all the geese wants to give us. It's well past time for us to eat the eggs AND the guy keeping them...

Visited FaceSuck for the first time in two years today. I regret it. Every single group I belonged to is now flooded with politically charged AI slop from bots pretending to be people. I closed my account and blocked the site. Fuck that.

Spider-Man was cool, but felt a lot less like his story and more like a series of short stories in the MCU. Spidey and the Hulk, him and the Punisher, a random plot about his powers going weird, and some c-list villains.

The "Fallen" character was interesting, but they tell you who it is very early on, and then it's a very meh race to figure out what they want. Imho, the best part of the movie was Spider-Man and Hulk fighting.

Punisher using Ned's "Spidey Tracker" app to find Spider-Man was also pretty funny. The characters do feel more like they are part of the same world than earlier films and Jon Bernshal is def growing on me as the Punisher.

In 2016, Obama was president for the election. It was free and fair. Trump won. In 2020, Trump was president. He says the election was stolen. Biden won. In 2024, Biden was president. It was free and fair. Trump won.

Despite two of the last elections, run by Democrats, being free and fair, even according to Trump, he continues to claim there is election fraud... But only during elections when he is president. Sounds to me like the fraud problem is coming from the guy claiming there is an election fraud problem.

Ok, so #Supergirl is way better than I expected... Except for one thing. Lobo. Please, I beg you.. stop putting Jason Momoa in movies where he needs to be funny. He isn't a funny guy and his Lobo character in Supergirl is just not good.

Last week, we had an issue with one of our hosted apps, where it started using 10x+ times its usual memory consumption. I spoke to the head of our infrastructure team, who suggested feeding all of the logs into AI to see what it could find.

My analysis found the exact issue the AI found... five years ago. Never mind that the developers had still not fixed it. That is a story for another day. Instead of finishing the email he was working on, my co-worker decided to just forward my email from five years ago again.

The AI didn't provide anything new... because it never provides anything new. All it did was trade hard-earned expertise for instant gratification. At least it got the answer right... this time. The lie of AI, in a nutshell.

As he excitedly put together an email from the AI overview of the problem, I read through the results again.. this all looked very familiar. I did a quick search of my email and came up with a message I sent in 2021.

It was part of a series of results related to memory leaks in five of our largest hosted applications, where I did deep code dives into their source code and months of traces among other things, to find exactly where the leaks were coming from.

Instantly, it spit out a bunch of gibberish along with a detailed explanation of the activity of one of the consumed APIs, a certain endpoint, a certain database call, and then a certain line in one of the Oracle packages. "There it is," he said, proud of himself.
