Why can't I currently find a single radio station that isn't broadcasting someone speaking American English? Radio4, 4extra, Times Radio, all as of this exact moment, just yank accents. This sort of thing is why I tend to say brits have ignored and accepted their own cultural colonisation.

There are still holes in W's representation of ideas. Not necessarily a bad thing. I could sympathise with greylisting insane opinions like flat earth. Best to have them all, though. Without dark manipulation... sanity, nuance and depth will win out anyway

It is still easier for me than most, I have some basic ability in more languages than I should 😆 It does still add a mental filter, though. Everything is easier in languages we are better at, so it's easier to ignore the others.

In particular, it became popular on X because it was optimistically automatic, so rather than having to manually tap translate, posts in other languages just appear in your feed translated into your language (unless configured not to), and you often don't realise until later!

as a woman i stopped a young girl in a grocery store (?16-19yrs old) to tell her that her Naked Bum was below the edge of her skirt. It was only at th till i saw WHY she chose to dress like that. Some guy was paying for her groceries. It was a Tool to get what she Wanted from a stranger.
