Set session.upload_progress.enabled=0 till next PHP release to block an unlikely RCE vector (CVE-2026-115560). Already recommended for CVE-2026-109619 Wed, keep disabled. Only apps with non-default serialize_handler switching it to "php" at runtime can be affected. #php #phpc

To leak and then amplify a leak to social media before a scheduled security emergency patch is incredibly irresponsible, especially given how serious the vulnerability is.

It's grim out there. Here is an AI company called Xonora Music putting an AI slop record out, unchecked, on Spotify that does not contain either of the artists mentioned. Just plays; that's all it wants.

I am reminded when a speaker who submitted to a local conference decided, while waiting to hear if the talk was accepted, that the best way to reply to the conference organisers desperately asking for sponsors was to tell everyone on a public Slack that they didn't believe in sponsoring conferences.

TIL that Lembit Öpik, the Cheeky Girls MP, was expelled from the Lib Dems for giving a speech to Conservatives on how to combat Lib Dems, then joined Reform UK which he defended by stating, "I go where the money is".

The school holidays are over; it's time to go into fifth gear again. First up: Frankfurt, to speak about how wannabe tech influencers are taking away our humanity.

PHP Turned 31 this year, so I wrote up a first-half summary of the PHPVerse event which @brenttoderian.bsky.social and Jetbrains put together. developer.vonage.com/en/blog/php-... Features talks from Fabien Potencier, Elizabeth Barron, Nils Adermann, and Jonathan Bossinger.

I am slowly getting accustomed to MS365, but there are some UX things that are crazy anti-user. This pops up on all my emails. I don't know what it is. I want to read my email. Why is policy showing. The 'i' doesn't show more info. I now don't know if it's US date or not. You can't get rid of it.

I am not at all raging that last week, to get back into Witcher III on my Steam Deck, I purchased both DLC packs, and today find out a full remastered copy is coming for free with all the DLC included.

A reminder that the most influential people pushing their products onto people using their platform are talking to you as consumers, but will not be doing as they say themselves. (Unless they don't like speaking to their children)

I've just finished this and I can report back that not a single person in chat commented on me dropping Charlotte Church after a psychedelic trance cover of Let's Dance by David Bowie.

Underestimating the power of our elephant-shaped language is easy. Our latest video is a deep dive into how PHP went from the wild west of the web to a serious, modern language. 🎥 Here is a sneak peek - make sure to check the full interview with @secondej.bsky.social on our channel! #php

The UK has a problem with creating popularity contests for regions because one region always gets ignored. A region with the highest unemployment and poverty rates. 36 towns applied from the West Midlands. None made the shortlist. None.

WE ARE ON BLUE SKY! #PHP debs, hello! @thephpf.bsky.social

PHP has been around for 31 years, but do many developers know who is shaping its future? 🐘 @secondej.bsky.social recently interviewed Elizabeth Barron, the new Executive Director of The #PHP Foundation, discussing the language, the community, and the future of PHP. 👉 Read the full interview:

What a couple of weeks it's been in PHP community land. 1. Trailer for documentary only featuring white blokes 2. All male conference (in the lineup advertised) 3. Merch release contradicting the direction the foundation is trying to head in.
