Remarkably, the WRU have again scoured the globe - this time with the help of external recruitment consultants - in their hunt for a new PRB chair and have again, to everybody's surprise, come to the conclusion that the best candidate is already doing the job. www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/rugby/...

I guess that was close to a perfect example of NuRugby2026 and an antidote to its weakness for 78-67 froth. Felt like a proper Heineken (ok, Champions) Cup match. Hard fought. Defences working hard. Long spells of probing kicking. A million points scored regardless. Bravo Gloucester & Bordeaux.

Quite admiring of Miles Harrison's commitment, approximately 35 years into a commentary career which has taken in both Max Llewellyn and his 92-cap dad Gareth, to not even pretending to attempt the "Ll" sound in Llewellyn.

Whatever else, a scrum featuring three Welsh players - only two of them likely starters this season - shoving the Bordeaux scrum all over Kingsholm has got to be a bit of confidence boost for them. And us.

"But incompetence still matters in other ways. It matters for the choice of which clubs survive. It matters for legitimacy. And it matters for the legal route. A policy executed this badly can still be undone by its own paperwork". On the case for 3 clubs. gwladrugby.wordpress.com/2026/10/11/b...

Watching the Scarlets this season feels a lot like watching Wales at Twickenham in February. If it can go wrong, it will. Wales gradually improved, I suppose.

I'm flicking back and forth between the Dragons-Ospreys and Leicester-Gloucester games. And, while I enjoy a maul try as much as the next person, it's possible to have too much of a good thing, isn't it?

Seriously, though. The argument against the WRU publishing everything was always so that idiots like me couldn't just rip into it all to point out various, ultimately usually quite frivolous, errors and omissions. Dave's 90-page August 2025 disaster has a lot to answer for.

That the WRU have today announced that they published, at 4pm today, a microsite packed with evidence for its decision to move to 3 clubs, and then: a) forgot to add a link to the English site b) added the link to the Welsh text but require a password to see it ...is very on the nose.

So, the Prime Minister thinks it would be a good idea to allow football fans to drink at their seats. Here - from a Gwladrugby piece of a few years ago - is a warning from Welsh rugby. This is what it's like when fans can drink in their seats. gwladrugby.wordpress.com/2020/02/24/t...

gwladrugby.wordpress.comThe “Principality” Stadium ExperienceOn Saturday, I watched a match at The Stadium Formerly Known As Cardiff Arms Park (TSFKACAP) for the first time in a long time. My absence was partly about life just jogging along – moving (a longi…

Thoroughly enjoying Cat Heledd's absolute commitment throughout this game to insisting that she's in a studio when we can all see her standing on the pitch at CAP. Your foot's on the actual touchline Cat.

Absolutely this - a good model would have a clear strategy, which is publicly available, and should be measuring itself against that strategy on a quarterly basis.

"People are entitled to ask what the strategy is, whether it is working, who is responsible for delivering it and what happens when it does not. Those are not unreasonable questions. They *are* the questions". Nathaniel Hale for Gwladrugby. gwladrugby.wordpress.com/2026/09/16/t...

Call me a soft northern European if you wish, but I'd suggest that an independent technical assessment looking at 'how the course would perform under a range of conditions' might have included "is it full of about 500 saltwater crocodiles' as one of said range of conditions.

I'm sorry, but how is it possible that Sarah Cooper-Lesadd supported Reform, sought to be and was chosen as a Senedd candidate for Reform, held office as a Reform MS for four months and has only just realised this?

"All these incredible stories. Incredible invasions. Beautiful war crimes. Corruption like nobody's ever seen before. People said we couldn't be this terrible..."

Dr. Michael MacKay@michaelmackay.bsky.social

Steve Witkoff addresses his true love, the war criminal Putin: "We were all talking about when we retire we'll have all these incredible stories and incredible memories and yours will be right at the top of it all."

Practical Magic remains the only film I've walked out of at the cinema. I guess WB executives are hoping people have forgotten how bad it was. I haven't.

Stephen Bush@stephenkb.bsky.social

Warner Bros plan for “2026 will be a good year” is now “an anticapitalist satire starring Tom Cruise will make a profit on its $125mn outlay”, “Practical Magic 2, the sequel to a 1995 film that lost money, will be a hit”, and “you can get six extra watchable hours from Philosopher’s Stone”. 🤔

Surely it wouldn't be beyond the wit of The Man to have ensured that the Ospreys' first game at NuStHelen's against the Dragons (24 October) and the Goldie Lookin Chain gig at the Patti Pavilion next door (31 October) lined up? Come on people. Make things easy for yourselves.

Codie Taylor is a fabulous player, but my favourite thing about him is that he looks like an All Black forward from the 1980s. That's right - about 53 years of age. You can't beat a prematurely aged forehead.
