Went to the Brooklyn Synth & Pedal Expo today. Talked to Roland about the Jupiter-X, with Synclavier about the Synclavier 3 and 4, checked in with Novation about the Summit (refurbs!), and then finally Eventide and took home an H90. (1 of 3) #SynthSky

Eventide’s releasing a black H90 in a few weeks. I would totally have preferred the black one (obvs LOL) but also the price is going up (due to RAM prices). So if you've been on the fence the way I've been now might be the time to go for it. <not a paid spokesperson> (2 of 3)

RT with your home river I grew up in New York City. Almost nobody thinks of New York as a water city but really it’s mostly a group of large islands with an ocean, an upper and lower bay, a sound, and several rivers and estuaries. The Hudson River, in fog.

RT with your home river. I grew up in a village on the Wey, sometimes we'd hire a rowing boat on summer afternoons and dad would row us between green banks. Now its the Gwendraeth, shorter, more of a mountain river, home to otters and egrets.

Powered up the Wavestate Module for the first time, ran the updater, loaded up all the patches I'd built in the software version, and then finally peeled off the plastic. It's got that new synth smell! LOL #SynthSky

in his seminal 1971 thesis on the origins of life, John Denver argues that the in the [Appalachian] Blue Ridge Mountains, life is old there—older than the trees. Now, we know that the Devonian progenitor to the modern tree, Calamphyton, evolved roughly 390 million years ago, which is in fact…

"the sandwich "exploded all over" his chest and claimed he could smell mustard and onions. But a photo showed that the sandwich was still in its wrapper on the ground after it hit Lairmore in his bulletproof vest."

The Sonicware ELZ_1 Play v2 has arrived. Only had time to audition a few presets so far but it sounds amazing. Can't wait to dive in and start patching. #SynthSky

Border Patrol agent Lairmore testifies that he was not injured by the sandwich, but he felt the impact through his ballistic vest. The sandwich came apart and "kind of exploded" on his chest upon impact, he says. "I could smell the onions and mustard."

Well, my Waldorf Iridium Desktop has been dead for a while, but after emailing with tech support and installing a not-quite-released OS it has come back to life! No crashes in the past hour+ and I've made three new patches. #SynthSky

I’m not a member of the “large originals” set either but a few months ago I got one of Dr. Brock’s 6" Mars paintings. It wasn’t necessarily inexpensive but it was pretty reasonable. And there’s prints too, which <are> affordable. Really happy with it.

Absolutely would if I could afford it, but I'm not in the tax bracket that can afford real art, especially in this economy. (Nothing against you. You are worth your time and should be compensated for your work.)

@gruber.foo Just read the Atari post and wanted to say that the ST line was <the> computer for musicians at the time (i.e., before the Mac took over). Had MIDI ports as a built-in standard, and was used by musicians around the world. The ST was where it (was) at, at least for music!

Sonicware Liven Ambient Ø firmware update in progress, while the new Liven Evoke is winging its way to New York. Gonna be an ambient summer. #SynthSky

Getting back to work, with some new stuff and some stuff I've had a while but not put to work yet. CME Xkey Air > MRCC > DT1000 Programmer > Roland D-05 #SynthSky

Now Playing: Yes, Close to the Edge Just got the five CD, one Blu-ray, one LP Close to the Edge box set. Played the Steven Wilson remix of the album, now playing the two-disc live show from 1972 at The Rainbow in London. Excellent live versions, and pretty much my favorite album of all time.

This is pretty much my story as well. And I’ve seen Todd live literally hundreds of times since then as well. #SynthSky

"City in my head, Utopia..." the prog national anthem of my youth. The sequenced synth middle-section (& synths on Todd & AWATS!) inspired me to save lawn cutting $$ to purchase my first Moog. @toddrundgren.bsky.social @synthsky.bsky.social Rock Scene Mag, March 1975
