So with the Duo, how do you just throw it on a MagSafe stand and have it go into Standby Mode? Do you *have* to open it? Because then it rotates on the stand

Anyone encountering weird iPhone Duo dynamic island behavior, where if you compile with the Xcode 27 SDK in even a sample app with just an icon, you get fat padding, but with 26 it looks normal? I thought it was sim only, but seeing on device, too

This Duo is a gorgeous phone but I am so back and forth on the nano texture inside screen. It's actually really cool looking, but whenever I go back to the outside screen the colors are so much more vivid

Looks like the rumors were wrong, HTX Studios x-rayed the Duo and its camera sensor looks the same size as the regular iPhone 17 *not* the 17e 🥳

My launch day AirPods Max officially no longer have noise cancelling/passthrough and just sound like a perpetual wind storm, but given the price of replacements I'll just live with them in dumb, normal mode

My M1 Pro MacBook with broken Touch ID, screaming fans, and a battery that has been at "service please" for two years is looking forward to a well deserved retirement

Wow, that's the first time I've seen it say unavailable for pickup at your local Apple Store, did they make so few Duos that some Apple Stores just aren't getting any?

People who have done Duo labs (or Apple folks), if you're folding the device and the folding blur effect is active, is the the left side of the screen still responsive to touches? The right?

I knew the Duo had a smaller camera sensor (rumor is similar to 17e), whatever, I'm used to the iPhone Air, but I didn't realize how small that would mean. That's closer to the iPhone 6 than the Air (Rumor might be wrong, and there's been more advancements than just sensor size)

Anyone else been totally unable to get the iPhone 18 Pro's triple live activity thing working in the dynamic island on the simulator? Only ever shows two for me

Went with mom to pick up an EV5 (her first electric vehicle) and gotta say, it's a really impressive vehicle. Unfortunate the US isn't getting this, it sits really nicely between the EV3 and EV9 and has some stuff I'm jealous of with Rivian

I just witnessed the world’s most patient Apple Store employee explain try to someone for 25 minutes that they don’t make ChatGPT and what software is

Tip: if you're like me and updating your Apple TV to tvOS 27 made every HomeKit device unresponsive, sign out of your Apple account on the TV, reboot, sign back in, and it should be fixed

Codex needs a setting like "if I haven't interacted with you in 2 hours and there's an update you want to install just do it". Love the updates but seems like there's always one

Forgot my phone at IKEA, went back to a few employees passing it back and forth going "it's so thin what the heck" The iPhone Air isn't a perfect phone but times like that make it worth it

As far as smart home light switches go, why aren't rotary dials more common in North America? Obvious on/off toggle, can't get "out of sync", even easier dimming than paddles, long-press actions, etc. Is there a downside beyond convention? (I'm aware of Lutron's janky one)

Smart home people: for standard looking smart paddle switches, do you keep the usual top = on / bottom = off behavior, or assign each half to a different light and have each button toggle its light on/off? I’m leaning toward the latter, but wondering if it would confuse guests

If you were choosing to buy smart light switches in 2026, which brand/model/protocol are you going with, and why? (Has to support smart bulb mode and not fully kill power to the bulb, I like my color temperature auto changing over the course of the day!)
