Yesterday I dropped off a framed photograph that was accepted into this exhibition. If you find yourself near Vermillion between July 10 and August 7, please come check it out, there's going to be some amazing art there! And if you can make it to the closing reception, I'll see you there!

I love Reggie's Portra recipe, and now he's got a new one, Reggie's Superia. Please note, neither recipe pretends to mimic either Kodak Porta or Fuji Superia film, rather they're versatile recipes that merely evoke the general vibe of those film stocks. youtu.be/rHeIWWcOUwI?...

Sioux Falls is home to a vibrant immigrant community, with all of the benefits thereof. To reflect this diversity, I actively seek people from the immigrant community to join my project, as well as those from Indigenous and African American populations. www.serge.photography/sioux-falls-...

LinkTree is great and all, but I have a website, so why am I paying $5/mo to host links when I can host my own? I took care of this about a month go. Keeping the LinkTree alive for a bit longer so people with old business cards can still use the QR code, but ready to phase this out soon.

A glorious sunny day for a walk in the neighborhood, tempered only by an icy breeze, but good enough for photography. Playing around with a new recipe in my Fuji X100V, "Dark Diary High Contrast". These are straight out of camera #sooc with no adjustments other than adding the watermark.

I learned two new things today: 1. A warming filter can take the cool edge off Instax film (one of my pet peeves and the reason I also shoot Polaroid) 2. Instax film dgaf about temperature so I can shoot right now (I'm keeping my i-2 in the bag until spring) youtu.be/ZpmIwHyNMBM?...

At a spry 98, photographer Bill Pay is a true Sioux Falls treasure. He regaled us with stories from his 80+ yr career in photography. He was gracious & generous with his time, and even consented to a photograph. As I took time composing this shot he quipped, "Take the shot, I might die of old age."

This is far and away the most important video Chris has ever published on his YouTube channel, and indeed one of the most important videos I've seen from any photographer. Regardless of what kind of photography you're into, I invite youβ€”nay, urge youβ€”to watch it, and watch it all the way through.

"Once a photographer is convinced that … the vast majority of photographs are camera lies … half the battle is won. Once he has conceded that … striving for naturalism in a photograph is futile, he can turn his attention to using a camera to make more effective pictures." β€” Andreas Feininger
