Reading children's fairy tales books from all over the world. The romance stories are balanced by the end of the evil person & end of the world stories. So 2026 is no different as the world turns, as it always has, with the hero & happy ending yet to be revealed. Lets have faith in human goodness.

Quoting Gandalf in the Hobbit- "Others thought overcoming great evil demanded great power. I've found it's the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk, that kept the darkness at bay. Small acts of kindness and love." Please consider these words in 2026.

Those who have asked for "no mercy" and "no quarter" should not be surprised when they are given none. Karma is decisive.

Americans need to fight back in small and large ways as each act of resistance is needed now.

Whoever wants my vote will have to guarantee they will bulldozer the Trump white house ballroom into oblivion and make it dust in the wind.

Life continues as I watch our president drive our country into a ditch and then set the car on fire. Will congress never put a stop to this or is it " in for a penny, in for a pound" mentality? I resist in any small way I can because I believe in the goodness of Americans.

I've decided that looking to republicans in Washington DC for solutions is a waste of time. Centrist Democrats need to embrace progressive Democratic ideas more. Also stop believing Republican lies from centrist and Republican owned media. Stop believing the Rich media owners lying for Trump.

It seems Trump's rubbing our noses in his great wealth. How all his needs supersede our desperate needs. He flies carefree in his golden palace plane over an America where people find it hard to feed and house their families and pay for gas to get to work daily. He's so far above us in his mind.

HCR says Trump's worried about upcoming elections, giving me hope. Now we focus on corruption - Trump, he & his family grabbing and wasting our tax $ and MAGA too. We must bring more people to the polls convinced that Democrats will support their needs and actually do to make their lives better.

Listening to Barack & Michelle Obama at his presidental center opening was an inspiration. It gave me Hope for our diverse democratic American family. Gave me peace to know this fabulous country will survive because we the people will not allow it to fail.

TRUMP has become "the boy that cried wolf" with each claim of "someone is trying to assassinate me!" All his other lies makes it hard to believe his insistent claims of victimhood. People are no longer listening to his assertions and are turning their backs to him. No rescuers are coming for you DJT

Interesting thought: Why do we go to restaurants? Is it because they cook foods we ruin when we cook them or that they cook food better than we can at home. Now that $ is being kept rather than spent, we're going to have to rethink and cook at home to save more $.

America seems to be in flux with angry voices everywhere, the info overload crashing over us. Trying to make calm intelligent decisions & it all make sense is like swatting mosquitoes with a tennis racket, some get hit but most fly on untouched. Yet I resist.

I'm sad and infuriated that people in the detention centers are forced to work to get feminine products, better food and better treatment. It shocked me into remembering the gate motto of a nazi concentration camp "and work shall set you free". That motto was a lie and yet here it is again. Slavery

Bread making: i'm Learning the old skills used in hard times. Bread making is not difficult, it just takes time, about 2 hours, for multiple rises. My beginning biggest mistakes not proofing my yeast and using hotter water than the yeast could tolerate. Time and patience and now there's Bread.

Making daily calls to the congressional switchboard to my representatives and senators is needed but depressing. You'd hope it'd makes a difference. Yet all I've heard from other local politicians is they laugh at my calls. Evidently Linda from Laceyville is a retired pest who calls them alot, GOOD!

Must be spring. I've begun washing , mending and putting away the many quilts from my bed. Sun drying them before placing them in my blanket keeper lined with cedar at the foot of my bed. I'm old school having one. Yet It's very useful at keeping the dog from falling off the end of the bed at night.

I'm beginning to understand the deep seated anger that overtook France and destroyed the elites and Royals. When it's hard to make ends meet and our president goes golfing repeatedly as though nothing is wrong or to parties attended by his rich friends as steaks or lobster are served my ire rises.

I was shocked at America's indifference to the death of a man in Buffalo, NY. He was a legally blind human being who sadly spoke nor read English. Dropped in a closed business parking lot in the dark rather than at his home. No one was notified, not his family and he died of hypothermia and the cold

Living on a rural PA mountain top leaves me feeling like all the ICE/CBP craziness is happening somewhere down in the cities and suburbs. I call and leave messages at my senators and congressmens' DC phone lines as well as my state and local representatives. Yet it still feels like it's not enough.

Strange to see all the vacation advertisements and know that my living paycheck to paycheck that's not something I'll be doing now or in my future. Yet the advertisements act as thought anyone watching has unlimited funds and perhaps some do. I sigh, look away and dream of better days to come.

There needs to be a database of all detention/prison centers in USA. Then the $ being paid to hold the detainees in these centers used to put a name to each detainee. This will keep people from being disappeared and lost in the system by being constantly moved about. Follow the money coming from DC.

I'm deeply saddened about what's happening in Minnesota & infuriated by the actions of ICE. It's hard to peacefully protest, as is your constitutional right, while ICE shoots flashbangs, pepperballs, tear gas and rubber bullets at you & avoiding violent ICE agents in your streets. BE STRONG & SAFE.

Just called thru the congressional switchboard 202-224-3121 - to Hakeem Jeffries office where people are answering the phones. She said there was high call volume. So keep the pressure up and call your congressmen & senators.

We, the people, are now divided by & into political parties and into red and blue states. We, the people, are all humans & Americans. How can we allow the rich to divide us up this way scattering the power we as Americans hold. "We" is the key. We TOGETHER are invincible and unstoppable. We are!

How can edits issued on Truth Social be TRUE. Anyone can be creating these statements. It's just like signatures with an autopen. There is no concrete facts to prove these statements are from the actual president rather than written by someone in the Trump regime. I call out Fake Truths as False.

Why can't change occur without death. Followed by callusness & rhetoric slandering her after the unnatural act of taking her life. Yet her death treated so casual and unimportant, as if to snuff out a candle and toss it away. There was no dignity to her dying only anger in those who viewed it.

It is again the time to have and wear a "house" coat. Yes, my indoor temperature is 55 and down to 49 degrees at night. Nighttime heat is provided by my dog and a heating blanket. I have found the cold doesn't bother me as much, I'm aclimitized so 55 feels very warm after walking the dog outside.

Learned too late - Never let your legally taken doe freeze before taking the hid off. It's a bitch - it took from noon to dusk to get it off, then quartered and put in the refrigerator. I guarantee you I'll never do that again. A new and unforgettable learning experience for me.

Snow fall silences the outside world. Even the dog curled up at the bottom of my bed snores contentedly as she warms my toes. A hard wind is blowing outside but touches none of us with its bitter breezes, as each snowflake drifts its way slowly, exquisitely and majestically to the ground.

I bought a single sugar cookie from Walmart. It was stale and the icing crunchy. The dog was looking at me as it sounded like I was crunching a dog bone. Tomorrow I make cookies from scratch with a nice icing atop them. Home made always tastes better anyway and the Kitchen will smell great too.

I've checked to see that I'm stocked with what I need for the coming snow storms. We can be isolated on the mountain top even though the main road is cleared it can take a few days to dig yourself out. Happy coming snow from me and my dog Lady Zilya.

Started the morning with stuffing for breakfast and then stuffed the bird. Then added a slice of apple pie and began Thanksgiving according to our traditions. We do the rest of the work at noon and then eat around 4-5 pm. It was a day filled with good smells from the kitchen all day long.

Was a part of the senior hunt in PA. I saw deer, all too distant for a clean shot. Heard Turkeys flapping around hidden behind bushes to my right. Watched turkey buzzards also a lone hawk chased by a murder of crows across the darkening sky. An enjoyable evening outside just then darkness fell.

Shocked and upset by the damage done to the White House today. I'm furious Trump is doing as he pleases to the people's house, an historic building. Where's the care being taken to preserve history by the white house historical society and their review and approval of the plans before starting? ?

Storm is moving in with brisk warm winds with a touch of moisture in them. The winds not so strong as to rattle the house but you can hear them coming across the fields and thru the trees. Swaying trees a beautiful dance of autumn as little clumps and single leaves rush off in their stiff breeze.

Best time of year, after the 1st hard frost, the Stayman - Winsap apples are picked. It's my choice for a great eating & cooking apple. Winesaps make the best apple pies. Sliced thin with sugar and cinnamon on top, cooked in the microwave before going into the crust then into the oven to brown.

The first nor'easter is dropping rain across NE Pennsylvania. The dog had to go walk outside twice, so she's damp. We've eaten and are in bed with the heating blanket on low. The furnace set to come on if it gets colder than 45 degrees at night. Living at low temps. means you feel the cold less.

Today was wash day for laundry and the dog. Dog first which meant both of were wet and fur covered. I dried off myself the dog, then started the laundry. In an hour it all be clean and another hour dried thoroughly. Ah the aroma of damp or wet dog fills the house there is no avoiding it.

The government is shut down Do not lose hope or get angry. Stay strong and refute the lies when you hear them spoken. Most of this is well beyond the average Jill and Joe's pay grade so stay calm and safe. Take a walk or sit under a tree or in the sun and be Joyous. We live in America.

I was shocked that without any proof whatsoever of who killed Kirk, the left's first thought is that it must be a Democrat or Liberal. I grew angry at the president echoing these sentiments again with no suspect in custody and no evidence. Where is the president who wants a peace prize. He's GONE.
