Misinformation, intimidation and violence rooted in anti-immigration and racist views poison our peaceful communities and put at risk anyone who the perpetrators judge to be different from them. We joined @amnestyuk.bsky.social and signed the joint statement 👇

150+ organisations are raising the alarm on the horrifying escalation in racist violence and intimidation. We must come together to demand the government takes serious action.

Settled's free, specialist EUSS advisers deal with 'curtailment' cases every week now. With our help some people who would have had their pre-settled status removed, have instead been granted full settled status. Thanks @the3million.bsky.social and @theguardian.com for highlighting.

Monique Hawkins, acting chief executive of the3million, said the impact of the Home Office’s retrospective review was devastating for many. "People applied to the EU settlement scheme in good faith...by building their lives in the UK and putting down roots." www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

A sad and avoidable experience. Great work by Settled's advice service manager Toni Petkova to secure Settled Status for this couple. Where is the safety net when people get stuck like this?

5/6 “I would like to thank Irfan who supported my EUSS application after several refusals. After 5 years I finally obtained my Settled Status thanks to Irfan’s help. He is my guardian angel. A very big thank you to him & to the entire Settled team. Once again, thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

6/6 In words of Irfan, one of our Senior Immigration Advisers: “I am pleased to confirm that she has been granted Settled Status bringing an end to a 5-year period of uncertainty. This exemplifies how careful case preparation, persistence & a trauma-informed approach can make a real difference.” 👏🙏

3/6 She was also given incorrect advice by another advice agency to apply for a Skilled Worker visa and, following that advice, instructed a professional adviser to submit a Skilled Worker application. Unfortunately, that application was also refused resulting in further financial loss and distress.

4/6 Since she contacted us, we supported her with a carefully prepared late application for Settled Status, addressing her vulnerability, previous refusals, evidential gaps, and the relevant Withdrawal Agreement and Home Office guidance. Following the decision, she wrote to us the following:
