This is the bottom line: Carrick still has a job because Wilcox doesn't want to lose his own. If Carrick goes, others are going with him, so they're going to go down with this ship.

I dont want to hear a single fucking person say "maybe relegation will get these owners out." They're not going to sell when our valuation is tanked by going down a division. If you think this club can support it's debt in the Championship, you're blind. Relegation will end Manchester United.

the whole fucking point of appointing Carrick was to see if we'd actually captured lightning in a bottle. We didn't. Not one of us on here should seriously think that Carrick is a project manager. This is lunacy. What toolkit does Carrick possess to turn these players on? We're getting relegated.

If it’s not sabotage why Wilcox and Berrada then it’s cowardice by Wilcox and Berrada. They’re too scared to own up to their own incompetence so they’re not willing to admit their mistake. Also, good job fans singing Carrick off. Your message was incorrectly received.

This is getting more and more believable by the day.

Also convince me that Wilcox and Berrada aren’t double agents, both former Man city employees. You don’t think there’s a chance they came over here to sink us? It’d certainly explain things.

The more I think about it, the more I think Bruno's gonna need to go away under the next manager. Don't build with him in mind. We need to move on from him tactically and culturally. He's been our best player, but I think it's best for everyone long term to move on.

Bruno needs to take a lot of flat to performances aside. He’s the captain and he should be getting these players doing more playing Harder giving a shit and he’s not.

I don’t know if this is possible, but we might like to start looking at players we can actually just release. Players we can get out of the clubhouse our injuries make this difficult, but some of these players have generally disrespected the shirt for too long.

People wondering what's wrong with Bruno? It's simple. He had a chance to leave for mega money last summer. Board told him "we're going to be aggressive in the market to build a team." This summer happens, shows that to be a lie, and he's pissed. He left tens of millions on the table for this.

I'm not sure I've ever actually seen a team down tools; I think it's far rarer than people talk about it. But it feels like we're seeing it now.

are we really just going to sleepwalk to a december firing again, or are we going to treat this season like it doesn't matter as well? Wanted to see a response, saw the opposite. Got a lead, couldn't hold it AGAIN. It's such a forgettable team. Why spend energy rooting for this?

I was hoping for a team response after Licha's comments, like maybe he'd fire us up, or shake the malaise, but this is the real world, where shit teams stay shit.

For a while now our recruiting has made me think "what league do they think we're playing in?!"

Aaron Moniz@amoniz.bsky.social

I don’t think there was a morsel of planning in how to make Santos and Tielemans’ lack of mobility work in a progressive side, other than “they’re cheap relative to what they are”. That doesn’t make United a market exploiter, it just makes them cheap

One thing that is vital to remember in all of this: How many people did INEOS sack at United to get costs down? How about the ticket price changes? All that was supposedly in service to us getting back to winning ways. Hundreds if not thousands were personally affected by these cost-cuts...

We did nothing to change that fact, so why would other teams change their approach? We're still gapped in the midfield. Our fullbacks still suck at defending. The book on us is written, and everyone's read it. That's what Licha is worried about.

Licha just said what everyone sees. We've sold our manager short, sold our fans short, and are banking on hope that we'll get to the next level. It's a joke of a club, and I don't see a way out.

Then let's talk about what Licha actually said: if you don't recruit and evolve, the book on you is written. Teams know your strengths and weaknesses and can play to that. What we're seeing now is a team weak against the low block, in a world that knows we're weak agains thte low block.

and yet we spent less than promoted teams this summer? We knew we had a complete second competition, and we only bought three players for one position? Sold no one of value? We fired hundreds, but couldn't sell one first team player?

All this in the name of winning, but we don't do anything to raise our ceiling at all? Hell, e bought 3 midfielders, and still have Mason Mount that needs minutes. "But he's always injured, so we need coverage!" ::Gestures wildly at Luke Shaw::

Lisandro Martinez: “I expected more investment in the summer. I have to be honest.” Don't discount the effect of not investing in a squad has on other players. A lot of former players have talked about how when a team doesn't invest, the players don't feel like the owners believe in them.

cpl observations: - You cant have Bruno and Tielemans on the field together. Not enough speed/athleticism for how open we are - Bruno is either injured or too old. He looks gassed and his passes suck. - Mbeumo looks like he's running really hard in place. He looks way off his peak too.

Here's the problem going forward: Player prices are now through the roof. We are financially hobbled as a club now because of the debt and lack of deep runs in competitions/finishing low. We simply won't have the funds to rebuild to the elite level anymore. We had a window and we missed it.

I only watched the first half, but the team, for this entire season, does not look like it wants to be out there. I don't think there's anything worse than watching your team play like they're scared, or tired, or overwhelmed. This team looks like they're in a state of shock, every game.

I turned the game off. I have better things to do with my time than watch this lifeless team that just wants to collect paychecks. This is all Ole 2.0. The relief of a players manager coming in behind a taskmaster gets the mood up, and then the next season they mail it in. Clockwork.

This is it. Work shy. Great way to put it.

Moyesy@moyesyrob.bsky.social

The players are clearly work shy. They hate it. You can see it in their body language, you can see it in the way the run. Its reluctant. Our "press" is superficial. There is absolutely no collective belief or desire to get after a team, push them back, force errors, make them uncomfortable

OK, I gotta say it. A lot of people need to lose their jobs over the next 3 weeks. Vivell, Wilcox and Berrada have run this team into the ground. The summer was woefully myopic on what we needed, and we're now payting the price. These players can fuck off too. They're clearly in check-cashing mode.

They can deny it all they want, and perhaps they don't notice it; but when you've been through that many managers and are still at the club, and still a starter(!) you subconciously realize there's no real consequence to not trying, so you level down a bit. And then a bit more. Then a bit more...

Adam Levitt@adamlevitt.bsky.social

These players have served the club but ratio of managers sacked to trophies won is atrocious. And these are our senior leaders, the ones to mentor the younger players. Are there too many emotional scars between them for us ever to move forward?

That's one recently introduced Premier League ownership group out after massively letting down a fanbase. Let's hope another one follows soon.

Premier League News@plnews.bsky.social

Chelsea have announced that Clearlake Capital Group will acquire the ownership interest of Todd Boehly and Mark Walter, while Hansjörg Wyss will remain an important stakeholder and partner in the ownership group.

It’s incredible how consistently this shows up. We do not win 50-50s. Our passes are heavy or weak or tackles in the ball back to the opposing team and our clearances suck we just play poorly. We look like we don’t give a shit all the time. It’s some kind of cultural failure at the club.

Moyesy@moyesyrob.bsky.social

Why is it, that every single team we play against look fitter, faster, stronger, more intense, more aggressive.

INEOS are a failed leadership team. They don’t change a thing about this clubs culture, then they cut every penny from this club and we still couldn’t spend this summer. If after all those INEOS cuts we are still broke, then we are a dying club.

There is a culture of mediocrity and everything United does now from a summer signings to how it plays on the field. It’s just not good enough anywhere and no one in leadership wants to acknowledge that.
