Some video games have occasionally connected to other video games for a neat unlockable bonuses or exclusive content. Here's a deep dive examining the times this has happened in fighting games, from the well known, to the hilariously niche. Tap in.

I always love how older Mario spinoff games and Smash function as snapshots of the era of Nintendo they were made in. As a fan of N64/GBC era Nintendo in particular, it's cool booting up Mario Tennis GBC and seeing overt nods to Mario 64, Yoshi's Story and even Wario Land 3 in it.

*Now* I know why this lineup felt vaguely familiar: Outside of KoTR, Slam Masters and Final Fight 2 & 3, all of these games are playable in web browsers via the Capcom Town portal right now. Wouldn't be surprised if this was related to that instead of a new compilation.

Inclined to believe this considering the SNES Final Fight Trilogy (or any FF game outside of CPS1 FF1, really) weirdly isn't available on any modern platforms when Capcom has historically put them on whatever the current Nintendo platform was. Even Wii U had FF1-3, Mighty FF, and FF One on VC!

Been playing Mario Kart Super Circuit with patches that - Pushes the game to 60fps (the game already did this under the hood, kinda) - Uses uncompressed instruments - Restores all of the stage hazards that were ommited from the SNES tracks Unironically enjoying this more than Mario Kart World tbh

Getting better at doing these IPS installs, thinking about acquiring and backlighting either a Game Boy Pocket or a WonderSwan Color next.

The lens I originally ordered for this GBC build came in scratched up, so I called an audible and installed the lens for the Pokemon Yellow Edition GBC shell until the replacement lens comes in (hopefully) this week. Not proud of the final result, but it is what it is.

That said, holy shit I forgot how good Golbez' leitmotif is. Up there with Kuja and Sephiroth in terms of incredible FF villain themes

Final Fantasy IV might have a Looney Tunes ass story with a revolving door of character deaths and gameplay that's arguably less flexibly designed than the entry just prior to it ...but damn if it's not a Final Fantasy ass Final Fantasy game. First time replaying it in over 10 years.

Hawkeye video should be dropping this week That said, I have an idea for a video that might be even more niche (and exponentially more expensive) than the interconnectivity vid. Might have to consult several homebrew communities for it too, but It'll be fun exploring this topic on original hardware

Kinda cool to have it officially confirmed that K' was indeed the mystery guest character that was going to be in Capcom Fighting All-Stars before the whole project got shitcanned.

My mom's finally getting discharged from the hospital today Can finally breathe easy again

[Reposts are appreciated!!] Hello, to help fix my car, I'm opening emergency c0mms on Monday 26th of October. The waitlist is currently live! There is also a 20% off coupon until the end of October. Link below. Thank you so much!!

Bought a few GBC reproduction shells because I'm going to be modding a few the next few weeks. Tried playing without the backlight for a bit and I have no idea how the hell I completed games on this thing I'm backlight modding the fuck out of this lmao

Finally got to see her. She went in for a biopsy for a mass near her kidney and something went wrong and she lost a lot of blood. Surgeons caught it and got it under control, but they're keeping her overnight for observation. Doctor suspects the mass is cancerous, but we'll cross that road, I guess

Was told I'd only have to wait a couple of minutes in the ICU waiting area to see my mom. It's been two hours now I'm starting to get worried

Looked up pre-release discussion on Aria of Sorrow since I didn't remember offhand what people's reactions to its premise was and I'm reminded of how much more reasonable internet discourse used to be

replaying final fantasy iv advance

I've been trying to figure out what it is about the first form Dracula fight in Belmont's Curse that makes it so great and I came to the realization that it's basically what would happen if MvC3 Dormammu was a Castlevania boss fight

You know, I didn't even consider some of my Street Fighter related character videos getting a bump in views because of the movie but it makes sense Cammy being the character to get the biggest bump by far is kind of hilarious though, considering she's my biggest issue with the movie

27 years ago, 9 year old me dreamed of making my own homemade Pokedex for Pokemon Yellow... but didn't own a Game Boy Printer. Tonight, after approximately 39 days... it's done. A physically handmade and printed Pokedex with all 151 Gen 1 Pokemon. Kid me would be over the moon.

This fun little journey like all things, inevitably has to come to an end. Catching our final 16 pokemon tonight to finally finish documenting our physical Pokedex. (Yes, we're saving Mewtwo for last) tap in www.twitch.tv/theseventhfo...

Going to stream after work this evening, likely going to be the finale of the Pokemon Yellow dex stuff. See y'all then.

what did she know

Anyhow, got plans later tonight so I'll be doing an early Pokemon Yellow stream this afternoon from 3pm-8pm EST, Gonna tackle the Pokemon league, get some of the postgame exclusive stuff, and perhaps actually finish this crazy physical Pokedex journey today (Or at least, come close to it)

saw the SF movie with a bunch of nyc fgc folks last night, fun movie if you're expecting a silly time and not a great one

Locked in and did my grinding for the Elite 4 in Yellow. Every Pokemon except Pikachu in this playthrough is named after someone that's been in a fighting game: Kazuki (SamSho) - Charizard Sougetsu (SamSho) - Blastoise Yamazaki (Fatal Fury) - Venusaur Angel (KoF) - Golem Star-Lord (Tokon) - Starmie

We're at 108/151 caught in pokemon, tap in www.twitch.tv/theseventhfo...

Beat Belmont's Curse today and I'm relieved to say the Dracula fight is somewhere between solid and really good. Doesn't overstay it's welcome and punishing, without being completely bullshit. Wish I could say the same about Death, but whatever.

Just came up on a boss with FOUR phases Still kind of enjoying the boss design in this game mostly, but this is starting to get exhausting

If you're finding yourself not having enough mobility during a certain mid/late game boss fight's full screen slash attacks, equip the relic that gives you a 5 second boost to general mobility after doing a whip grapple Thank me later

Ah, I appear to have hit the "what the literal FUCK were these developers thinking" boss fight of Belmont's Curse.

Hawkeye video is getting moved to next week because of Castlevania, sorry

Belmont's Curse's difficulty kinda feels like a logical extension of Order of Ecclesia's in the same way Metroid Dread's difficulty was a logical progression of Metroid Fusion's and I can't say how much I appreciate that enough

Even though I know I'm only setting myself up for disappointment, I'm gonna see if the Konami code does anything, lmao

I've been legitimately waiting 18 years for this day. See y'all later.

I thought about including quick recipes for each drink (I will be talking about each one) in the video as a fun little thing, but decided against it on the off chance that someone watching that might be in recovery from an addiction might find it to be a trigger Or maybe I'm too sensitive. I dunno.

Tried giving Hollow Knight another try yesterday and yeah, that game isn't for me. Hand drawn artstyle is neat, but the environments don't really grab me visually, and I'm constantly asking myself when an area is going to fucking end instead of the usual joy I get from exploring in a Metroidvania.

hawkeye definitely not helping the "new york dudes are easy" allegations (it's me, i'm new york dudes. hawkeye vid this week btw)

this is related to the next capcom vs legacy video I promise

sean seanson did a video with radical bikers in it
