Huge congratulations to these incredible journalists for organizing with @pacificmediaguild.bsky.social Being in the guild as a Chronicle reporter changed how I thought about my role in the newsroom and taught me about solidarity. It's great to see reporters build that together.

🧵 We are unionized! We are the staff of the San Francisco Public Press, a nonprofit investigative newsroom dedicated to breaking the surface level on deeply rooted issues in the city. We just formed a union and got voluntary recognition from our management!

This is wonderful news!!! As a former editor at SF Public Press, and as someone who has worked with all of these staff, I'm ECSTATIC and EXCITED for what comes next! These journalists are amazing.

Through our union, we want a say in decisions that impact staff. We want to produce reporting in a stable workplace that enables us to do our best, provides opportunities for career growth and encourages us to stay. A union will ensure the people doing the work are supported, protected and heard.
