I've flipped to The Heritage Classic and let me tell you, this id a tier-1 jersey matchup. Both are super clean and the visual is perfect.

100 pages into He Who Fights With Monsters (by Travis Deverell) and it feels like what I hoped The Frugal Wizard’s Handbook for Surviving Medieval England (Brandon Sanderson) was going to be.

Last campfire of the year was a great one, and we had it early enough that the marshmallow high will hopefully wear off for my son to have a reasonable bedtime.

The Raptors are the 6th team in the 31 seasons of pbp data to get through their first 2 games without ever trailing. Last to do it was the '22-23 Pelicans. No team in those previous 30 seasons got through 3 games without ever trailing.

Raps went about 1:45 without any of Barnes/Leonard/Quickley on the court in a close game in 4th Q. Wiz had AD on floor. Raps won the small sample of minutes 4-3. Small thing, but a big thing

Second game and Allen Graves has confidently switched onto Trae Young on the perimeter. Love his confidence and willingness to take on a challenge to stretch his game.

Good riddance to Hellebuyck. Return package isn't great (unless Alexander Command hits or nears his ceiling), but happy the Jets can now move forward.

Yesterday my son helped me clean and oil my bike chain. He was so intrigued. And today on our bike ride to daycare he kept commenting about how great a job we did.

Only just realizing this now, but it's pretty funny that as the Bulls were getting slapped by the Raptors last night and emptied their bench, Tiago Splitter still gave Patrick Williams a DNP-CD. He wasn't even trusted down 40+.

Ja'Kobe Walter was awesome last night. Really strong defensively, including and the point of attack, and while his 3-point shot wasn't falling (I have no doubt it will though) he still leveraged the threat to create drives. Even adding in 4 assists was a nice little addition to the offense.

Someone go get this job and convince the ESPN brass that Stephen A. Smith is too much of a liability and they should instead hire thoughtful analysts who actually enjoy sports.

Pretty gross how many election candidates in Winnipeg have AI all over their campaign. Whether it be their website write-ups, campaign images, or School Trustee candidates who openly talk about more AI in the classroom as if it's a good thing.

Good, and I cannot stress this enough, riddance.

Sources: The Milwaukee Bucks have waived Kevin Porter Jr. He averaged 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per game for the Bucks last season.

Michael Grange is reporting that the Raptors are healthy across the board, including Nate Bittle who is out of his walking boot and resuming on-court activity. So there is your good news for today.

My son picked his Halloween costume yesterday, and he is so excited for his new TMNT costume. He will be Michelangelo. The nunchuck was costly, and we made the decision to go without so no one accidentally gets hit by hard plastic. So what does my wife do?? She crochets a nunchuck!!! She's the best!

A lot of people are saying/writing that the Raptors are going to win ugly this year, and I disagree. Those folks need to find the beauty in bullying opponents to the point that they lose their will to play basketball.

And while this is obviously an exaggeration, why do so many people only aesthetic offense to be beautiful? A maniacal defense that flies around, throws random doubles, jumps passing lanes by being a step ahead, and forces teams outside of their comfort can be so beautiful to watch.
