I wonder *which* tinpot dictator's tantrum caused our current high prices...

JD Vance: "Gas prices are too high ... they skyrocket every time some tinpot dictator decides to throw a tantrum"

I think it's important that we remember this episode with Vivek in 2028 when JD Vance is inevitably running for the Republican nomination for POTUS, and that we remember that Vivek is someone that Vance likes and respects so much that he named his son after him.

Kirsten Bladh@kerstanley.bsky.social

Over 2,000 alumni from Vivek’s all-boys catholic high school in Cincinnati have signed and circulated a petition demanding that he pull the ad and issue a public apology for “ignoring the moral responsibilities” of his Jesuit education. I think he’s pretty cooked.

I don't know what CBS Sports already knows, but they're listing the records of WMU and Toldeo as if the game is already over and Toldeo won. It's only the 1st quarter.

Every time the world puts a new opportunity in front of Trump to hit his new moral low point, he happily obliges.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "Ramaswamy put up a very powerful Ad about a mother saying that her daughter, Acton, is a liar, and much worse. The Press is trying to get him to 'take down the Ad.' Frankly, anybody whose mother spoke about daughter that way would normally lead to the daughter being precluded from serving"

The Vivek ad with Amy Acton's mother might be about the lowest thing I've ever seen in politics. It's very hard for me to be shocked by the depths that *this* GOP will stoop to, but the Vivek ad is shocking even against that standard. The sooner he's banished from our political sphere the better

Interestingly, Kyren's overall usage hasn't really been much different than last year, but it's been less consistent. In 2025, Kyren handled 64.8% of the Rams' RB opportunities (carries + targets). In 2026, he's handled 64.3% of them, but it's basically been 3 workhorse games, and 3 split workloads

Matthew Berry’s Fantasy Life@mbfantasylife.bsky.social

Kyren Williams on the Rams offensive struggles 😬

Particularly the rushing workload. Here's Kyren's % of the RB carries by week: Wk 1 - 42.3% (was at 55% before garbage time final drive) Wk 2 - 50% Wk 3 - 71.4% Wk 4 - 76.2% Wk 5 - 76.2% Wk 6 - 52.6% Kyren has dominated receiving work in all of these games.

It's worth noting that from an efficiency standpoint, Kyren and Blake Corum have been pretty much interchangable. Kyren is averaging 4.9 ypc and 5.6 ypt Corum is averaging 4.7 ypc and 7.0 ypt (but on many fewer targets)

Pittsburgh has absolutely botched the end of this football game since the INT. Threw 2 incomplete passes at the goal line to save time and a TO for the Bucs to answer. Then called timeout *after letting 15 extra seconds run off* to let the Bucs swap in the kicking ball for Tampa's game-tying kick

If you're going to call that timeout, do it right away to give yourself time to win in regulation. Once you've let the 15 seconds run, just don't call the TO and make them kick the normal game ball.

Michigan is in for a loooong day if they don't get more from their defense than they're getting on this first drive. Just getting picked apart by a mediocre Penn State offense.

The best way to do a CFP from the beginning was to have the number of teams that get in fluctuate from year to year based on how many were deserving, with the committee's guiding principle being 'the fewer teams in, the better'. But that's a hassle logistically & doesn't generate as much $ for NCAA

Mike Golic Jr@mikegolicjr.bsky.social

I swear, just a few more teams and it’ll be perfect. Cmon guys. 64 teams and then we’ll schedule the good games. 128 teams and we can really crown a true champion. Gotta make sure the 8th best Big 10 and SEC teams have a fair shot. there are jobs on the line!

For example, last year's CFP would've been great at 7 teams - Indiana plus the 6 power conference 1-loss teams. Undefeated Indiana gets a bye to the semifinals. 2 OSU vs 7 TAMU 3 Georgia vs 6 Ole Miss 4 Texas Tech vs 5 Oregon Lowest remaining seed plays IU in the semis. Other 2 play each other.

It was so predictable that the Laken Riley Act was going to play out this way. It strips due process from immigrants who are merely *accused* of low-level crimes. Every Democrat that voted for it should wear it as a stain on their careers.

Radley Balko@radleybalko.bsky.social

Ex-boss filed a $12 theft charge against an ex-employee because she got a restraining order in response to his creepy behavior. Charge was never prosecuted, but it gave ICE an excuse to arrest and detain her. Congratulations to the 58 Democrats who voted for the Laken Riley Act. You own this.

For Ruben Gallego, who co-sponsored the bill, this is disqualifying for ever considering him as a presidential candidate. These Dems abandoned their principles to chase what they believed was public sentiment on immigration. Public sentiment can change. Principles shouldn't.

Anyone who watched any of Zacharia's presser today could see she doesn't have the juice that Leavitt did. You've got to be able to project confidence and conviction as you lie through your teeth and demean reporters critical of the administration, and Zacharia just didn't do that.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

CNN: "I spoke with one White House official who said a lot of them are 'missing Karoline today'"

The hardest thing to understand about that Commanders ending..why are you even trying to run the clock down? Make the FG & the game is over. You have zero timeouts left. If you're going to get cute in case you miss and the Giants get the ball, make damn sure everyone understands the clock situation

The reaction from Gus Johnson and Joel Klatt on that one-handed grab by Indiana was a bit much. Yeah, it was an impressive grab, but it gained like 4 yards.

Game of Thrones, Walking Dead, and Dexter are gonna be popular answers for this, but for me it's Westworld. Season one was SO good, but it just fell off a cliff from there.

What TV show got so bad it effectively destroyed your appreciation for the show when it was was good?

Fun dynasty hypothetical (this isn't actually hypothetical - it's an actual problem I'm facing this week)... My 4-0 Superflex team has 2 real-world starting QBs on it, Lamar (injured) and Bryce Young (bye). Tyler Huntley is the only available QB on waivers. What % of my waiver budget do I bid?

For additional context, here are the important roster pieces QB - Lamar, Bryce RB - Saquon, Skattebo, Monangai, Charbonnet, Pacheco, Sean Tucker, Kaleb Johnson WR - Olave, Carnell Tate, Diggs, Doubs, Bateman, Antonio W., M. Fields, Tre Harris, Dohnte Myers, Flournoy TE - McBride, Kelce, J. Johnson

I've got $909 (out of $1,000 budget) left. Waivers are usually pretty barren in this league (best players on waivers right now are Huntley, Will Shipley, Holani, Cody White, Mitchell Tinsley). Do I say fu*k it and just take the L this week if Lamar doesn't play, or go all-in on Huntley?

It's really interesting that as we head into a potential labor stoppage in MLB this offseason because 'small market teams can't compete', 3 of the 4 teams in the ALDS rank 27th (White Sox), 28th (Rays), and 29th (Guardians) in the majors in payroll this year.

The New York Jets have now gone 20 consecutive games without recording an interception on defense. There are only 4 teams in the NFL that don't have an interception yet this season...and the Jets haven't had one since their final game of the 2024 season.

The Deshaun Watson redemption tour that some folks in NFL media have been pushing is just so, so gross I believe in second chances, but they're not just handed out automatically because time has passed. They're earned by doing the work (admitting wrongdoing, showing contrition, growing as a person)

Wemby continues to make himself more likable.

In a stance that puts him at odds with other notable NBA stars, Victor Wembanyama says he would never lend his name to FanDuel, Polymarket or any other sports betting site. “Honestly, I think it’s very sad to see some players promote it,” he said. www.expressnews.com/sports/spurs...
