This dude rocks and this thing is awesome if you've got fucked up hands like me, or even if you just like weird alternative keyboards. Would love to see him succeed (Not sponsored, this thing just really helps me type on bad days) www.kickstarter.com/projects/in1...

Oooh. What is their motivation (history, circumstances, assumptions)? What is their character arc? What is the best Situation(s) to get them through the arc, such that the right levers of growth will be pulled? Et voila, story.

Q2: What aspects of character development do you consider most important to your story planning process? #WeeknightWriters

Absolutely LOVED All of Us, Murderers! I would recommend Dead Girls Walking by Sami Ellis. It’s queer, it’s spooky, it’s complex and layered while also being good, scary fun that’ll send shivers up your spine!

Spook-O-Meter: 👻👻👻👻👻 A remote Gothic mansion, spiteful ex-lover, dysfunctional family, and rumored haunting. Any one of these would be a lot for Zeb to deal with. And he is trapped in the house until the fog lifts. This is Gothic horror at its finest, with a creeping dread that sticks with you.

They say you should post about one ‘thing’ other than your writing. Y’know, to show you’re a human person and not a marketing machine. But, y’all, I don’t have 1 thing. I have 50. You will never think, oh yeah, Shea liked Y, because Shea runs through things so frippin’ fast.

I’m thinking about it, like: have you seen my fountain pen collection, my quilts I make every 5 years, my studio corner for my oil portraits, my sourdough, my herb garden, my roller skating moves (no you haven’t because I never have photos), my TBR pile, my art collection, my tea collection, my obse

Welp. World’s Greatest made me cry so, that’s an endorsement. ❤️❤️❤️

IT'S SO GOOD. istg this man drops new queer anthems like it's his fucking job. It still makes me insane that That's What I Want didn't get played at a single of the like 5 Prides I went to this year, even tho I heard Pink Pony Club 80 bajillion times. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QDYD...

A little poem for a Monday: Cubicle View I feed myself to the machine. I feed myself to the machine. I feed the machine. The machine. Machine. Machine. Machine. Machine.

I want sex that moves the plot and provides insight into character. Most erotica i read does that. But Docile by K.M. Sparza uses sex in such an incredible way - it is both intensely erotic and incredibly disturbing. It demands a lot of a reader, and I love that.

I hear about bad sex in books all the time, so I'd like to ask what everyone's favorite piece of erotic writing is instead! Explaining why is welcome. 'Writing' can include comics, serials, poems, on top of books and short stories, as long as what you enjoy about the eroticism centers the text.

I’m still contemplating my answer, but my DPP folks will be all over this! :)

I just read a fic that made me reassess my dog’s mystifying behavior (he’s terrified of everything, including long grass, anything that moves, and many noises I can’t hear.)

Most of what I read is new. I’m trying to mix it up a little. So, I started reading Narcissus and Goldmund by Hermann Hesse, Crush by Richard Siken, and I have a new translation of Gilgamesh waiting for me to get freed up.

I’m taking a fiction class right now 3 hrs a week, plus reviews and assignments. It’s too much and it’s wearing my down, even though I like it (MS, you bitch). BUT I did just see that a person I really like in the teaching space is offering a more intensive class in January and…

My sweet shifter boys, Clovis and Kyle, meet at a coffee shop in my story from Add Magic to Taste.

Today is National Coffee Day, so we're sitting down with a cup of our favorite coffeshop beverage and enjoying some related reads! What are your favorite queer books set in coffee shops and tea shops? Text version: duckprintspress.com/2026/09/29/q... on Bookshop.org: bookshop.org/lists/queer-...

I’ve missed a few weeks, but got back to roller skating tonight and… I almost didn’t go because I was exhausted and depressed but it was absolutely the right thing to do. Skating is always the right thing to do.

Sometimes I listen to financial podcasts while I work. I know, I know. But the quickest way to lose me is to mention that “Rich Dad, Poor Dad” was an inspiration. Right, just take advantage of people and pretend they’ve asked for it. 🤬 This mentality is the definition of what is wrong with the US.

It’s been a busy and taxing series of weeks. BUT, I’ve got three stories I’m really pleased with, one of which already has a home with @duckprintspress.com. Taking this writing class is, frankly, too much. But I can’t be sorry, even as my body makes me pay.

I just finished reading The Mystery of the Bitten Peach by Cecilia Tan, and what a fun, thought provoking romp through time and relationship and identity. I still can’t believe how much was packed into 131 pages.

And then he said genre writing is predictable, basically, and not lesser (but kinda lesser) than literary work. *sigh* I mean, to each their own, man, but you clearly aren’t reading the speculative stuff I’m reading.

Just heard Yann Martel describe using AI to write as being like hiring someone to have sex for you. Amen. Pry my pen from my cold, dead hands.

Happy Saturday! I'm at Stockade Streetfest in Schenectady! It's a little rainy but not too bad, the temperature is perfect, the vendors are great, and the Stockade is always worth a look-see, as it's one of the oldest communities in the US with buildings dating back to the 18th century! Come say hi!

whats a movie less than 60% on rotten tomatoes that you consider to be a perfect movie? like not a bit, genuinely perfect film. Does this count?

I’ve been covering my camera when I’m not using it, and it’s amazing how many apps blithely send me through after displaying a cute lil Face ID icon and calling it good.

Ugh. Trying to post a thing that doesn’t use my dog’s death for, I dunno. Whatever social media is supposed to do. Anyhow, it was time but I’m still gonna miss him. We had a good run, buddy.
