After gathering up all the flyers for the various candidates at various positions in this years municipal election, I opted not to vote. Because they're all the same candidate, with the same platform built on funding cops, austerity and made up claims about accountability.
LOL Municipal election time in my town, and one of the people running for my ward is campaigning on austerity and addition police spending. So instead of spending money on good things for the town, we'll just dump it in a useless pit. Not even a fire. Fire would at least keep you warm.
"But I have to admit that my own shortcomings in game design and planning may have played a part in this unfortunate turn of events" Seems like the additional context here is that his insistence on using AI, might have cost the studio the deal they had.
I'm not sure why, but as we get closer to the GTA6 release date... I'm feeling less enthused about the game. It's not that I think it's going to be bad. I think GTAV, and despite some issues with the writing I liked RDR2. I'm just having a hard time hyping myself up for another 40hr open world game.
At the risk of getting dragged, I'm going to say that the issue is not the tech. It's the people using it. Rich folks see it as a shortcut to higher profits, because they don't respect their own product or their consumers. Poor folks think it's a shortcut around talent and time. It's not.
It always comes back to this for me; if AI was so good, such a disclosure would be a selling point. If AI was everything these slop jockeys said it was, they should be proud to let people know their game was AI made. But the proof is in the pudding, and they can't stand that people don't want it.
This talking point always feels super weird because a comparable PC is still going to cost twice as much as a console because they’re just as screwed by the AI price inflation.
Sorry still thinking of $1,200-$1,800 dollar console just conceptually. Those are Real Computer numbers. You can just get a real computer for that kinda cash. The entire premise of the console is “this is a baby computer you don’t control but it’s standardized and affordable” but they can’t do that.
Calling the NDP in their current form a "top opposition" party is a stretch... but I do agree w/the idea that we should have some publicly funded businesses in the various entertainment sectors. Especially as relations with the US continue to worsen.
