When Elon Musk's groups spent $20M+ on Wisconsin's 2025 Supreme Court race, his involvement backfired and his candidate lost by 10 points. Now his super PAC has quietly spent $14M+ on key midterm races, including the Texas Senate race. Would be a shame if people found out.

When rich speculators prosper While farmers lose their land; when governments spend money on weapons instead of cures; when the upper class is extravagant and irresponsible while the poor have nowhere to turn all this is robbery and chaos. It is not in keeping with the Tao. ~Lao Tzu, Tao te Ching 53

This is just sad, @washingtonpost.com. Republican P.B.S. Pinchback served as 24th governor of Louisiana in 1872 and 1873. He was Black. It’s something a seasoned staff would know, or at least check. Jeff Bezos added $29 *billion* to his net worth in July alone, while continuing to drain your husk.

If you want to shrink something, you must first allow it to expand. If you want to get rid of something, you must first allow it to flourish. If you want to take something, you must first allow it to be given. This is called the subtle perception of the way things are.

Food companies wanted deregulation. Now there are dozens of recalls across the country. Mining companies wanted deregulation. Now the black lung rate is at a 45-year high. Financial companies wanted deregulation. Now financial losses to fraud are the highest on record. Noticing a pattern?

MEDIA PSA: When you call it the $1.8 Billion “anti-weaponization fund” you’re helping Trump sane-wash it It’s an “insurrectionist slush fund” A “heist” or “theft” from taxpayers A “scheme” to enrich himself When you use his words you aren’t a journalist, you’re a stenographer

🗳️We won’t have democracy until we actually ENFORCE antitrust laws. Courts rationalize huge monopolies by using “consumer welfare standard” - they’re illegal only when creating higher prices. Other nasty effects aside, what about a CITIZEN welfare standard? Monopolies control OUR politics and media.

Some good news for the most endangered wolf species on the planet. (Corrupt Republicans and greedy billionaires keep trying to gut the Endangered Species Act. Unlike wolves, those carnivores are invasive, kill for sport and destroy communities.)

I respect the desire to comment on our crisis, and I don’t mean to be a dick, but I’m going to start unfollowing people who use AI to create fake “editorial cartoons.” It’s a slap to a noble art, on life-support since newspapers started collapsing. Support and share the work of actual cartoonists.

“Hard to believe Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA” is one of the best descriptions I’ve heard of the GOP’s vision for America.

Taco Bell identified the source before the FDA & pulled the lettuce from its stores The FDA didn’t name the source until Taylor Farms outed themselves & the FDA still hasn’t issued a recall Hard to believe Taco Bell is now a more reliable authority than the FDA

When the Tao is lost, there is goodness. When goodness is lost, there is morality. When morality is lost, there is ritual. Ritual is the husk of true faith, the beginning of chaos. ~ Lao Tzu, from Tao te Ching, Chapter 38
