Washington Supreme Court strikes down unconstitutional gas initiative — a huge win for clean air & energy affordability!
After a multi-year legal battle, the Washington Supreme Court has ruled Initiative 2066 unconstitutional.
This decision ends a multi-year legal battle that clears the way for Washington state to continue efforts to reduce air pollution, lower utility bills, and transition buildings away from expensive, volatile gas to safer, cleaner electric alternatives.
Weakening federal truck pollution standards ensures more dirty diesel trucks on our roads, leading to toxic air and worsening health for families near highways & freight hubs for decades. Help us oppose Trump’s EPA attack on clean air. The comment period ends Aug. 29! sc.org/EPA_Diesel_P...

Bears Ears and Grand Staircase-Escalante are irreplaceable. They protect sacred Tribal cultural landscapes, incredible wildlife habitat, world-renowned recreation, and clean water. These places are part of our natural legacy—not for the higgest bidder.
Sierra Club stands alongside Tribal Nations, local communities, and everyone who believes these places should remain protected for future generations. Fight back: Act to tell your Congress members to defend our national monuments: sc.org/DefendMonume...
We've defended our national monuments when Trump and his allies attacked them before.
Just this spring, thousands of people successfully spoke out against attempts to erase Grand Staircase-Escalante's protections. Now, Trump and the Utah delegation are blatantly ignoring that overwhelming support as they seek to further industrialize and privatize our public lands.
Join us in celebrating the lands and waters we all share. Download our America 250 public lands sign, snap a photo in a place you love, and share it with #PublicLands250. Be sure to tag @sierraclub.org so we can celebrate with you! Download your sign: sc.org/America250-S...

Environmental Policy Institute released a damning report showing massive CEO and executive pay at utilities as millions of folks struggle to pay energy bills and fall deeper into debt.
Utility rates are in part going up to fund utility profits, and those shareholders are rewarding executives with eye popping figures.
Sierra Club's campaigns are taking action against utility profits, pointing to greed and overinflation of investments as part of the affordability crisis.
If your Senators voted NO, remember to thank them! We especially thank Minnesota Sens. @smith.senate.gov and @klobuchar.senate.gov, and New Mexico’s @heinrich.senate.gov, for championing Boundary Waters protections.
2) Congress could soon vote on a similar resolution targeting Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument in southern Utah. Tell your members of Congress to vote NO: sc.org/protectGSE
📢 Annual @sierraclub.org scorecard ranks 33 major U.S. public pensions and reveals most are failing to adequately manage the climate-related financial risks to their investments through proxy voting. See how your state stacks up:
‼️The U.S. Senate could vote as soon as TODAY or later this week on whether to protect or pollute the watershed of northern Minnesota's Boundary Waters Wilderness. Act now: Tell your Senators to vote NO. 📞 1-202-816-5239 ✍️ sc.org/boundarywaters

Some pensions argue they can't adopt climate strategies, but action by peers shows that steering $$ toward investments that advance decarbonization and climate resilience is feasible, financially prudent & fully aligned with fiduciary duty. Read on👇 www.esgdive.com/news/are-us-...
Consulting companies with connections to oil and gas are using AI public comments, some that allegedly are fraudulent, to flood public agencies with public comments asking to vote down clean air efforts. Groups are demanding that California attorney general investigate.
The Trump Administration is trying to play "god" in the Gulf, but we are holding them accountable on behalf of all of the wildlife and fragile marine ecosystems that their decision impacts. Read more at the 🔗 bit.ly/4sHzBbo

In the past week, two New England offshore wind farms achieved major milestones: Vineyard Wind completed construction and Revolution Wind began sending power to the electric grid. Join us in our fight against Trump’s senseless offshore wind grudge. Visit Sc.org/wind-power 🌊
Welcome to March Badness! This year's tournament pits the 64 of the worst anti-environmental actions from the Trump Administration for our air, water, communities, climate, clean energy, and lands against each other. 😬 sc.org/marchbadness
New documents obtained by the Sierra Club show the Trump Administration’s chaotic approach to censoring signage on public lands as part of its effort to erase history on climate change, slavery, and Indigenous peoples. More via @nytimes.com: www.nytimes.com/2026/03/16/c...

🛢️In 2024, Trump told Big Oil execs he'd protect their interests if they spent $1 BILLION to elect him. Now, he's upheld his end of the deal. New @senatebudget.bsky.social report details how Trump gave Fossil Fuel companies a $3.5 BILLION *annual* tax cut to continue polluting our planet.
