I plan to post at least one of my photos a day here on Bluesky. I design each of my photos using recent research into the benefits to mental health of looking at plants & patterns in nature. Making my collections relaxes my noisy autistic+ADHD brain & they'll relax yours by looking at them here:

I created this photo using recent research so it relaxes your brain when you pause to look at the details. As I'm sometimes too unwell to post here (not good mental health due to PMDD & recovering from a breakdownA) it would help so much if you could maybe RT my photo. Many thanks 🌿

Having a bad mental health day but research shows that making something can alter brain biochemistry for the better, so l’ve made a cabinet of curiosities/small museum in a tiny antique Cadbury’s cocoa powder tin. This DEFINITELY helped ✔️

The bluish grey speckled bead is Roman, my daughter made the mushroom 8/9 years ago & the tiny silver acorn is Edwardian:

Can list all the exhibits in the tiny museum if you like but they incl. a hagstone from Seaham & a 200 m yr old ammonite from N Yorks, 1930s painted lead toy miniature rabbit & snowdrops & a ~100 year old Tasmanian trochus/maireener shell 🗝️

Posting later than I planned but these are the ways in which bringing some flowers, berries, autumn leaves 🍁etc. from your garden/walk really can alleviate stress & lift mood. A few stumbles bc confidence=bit wobbly but if you make a posy maybe post it below? Seeing it will help others’ brains too 🌿

Small finds from the wood in late October, with my illustrations next to them, from my book The Wild Remedy, about how contact with nature alters our brain chemistry to improve mental health🍒🌿

Ok, wrt inhalation of the plant oils/phytoncides I should have said it *can* trigger a drop in cortisol of 25-30% (in academic experiments). The actual decrease triggered by a posy on your bedside table will be lower, but will be still v helpful for day to day mental health 🌿

@interactions.bsky.social Thanks for undermining what I’ve posted.30% is in Japanese academic experiments when individuals inhale phytoncides directly. Don’t know what to say other than that, except I’m trying to help people’s mental health, what were you doing there exactly? Negating my content yes?

I'll be making my 1st short form video this morning about the 3 ways in which making one of these👇for yourself (doesn't have to be neat) & putting it where you can see it improves your mental health. My confidence has been in overdraft for ~4 yrs so am posting this for accountability-I need to do it

Dave the robin & some miniscule Brambly Hedge action at the bird café just now (sound up for commentary-still trying to build confidence for YouTube).I think my garden step voles had babies-one of them seems to be Brave & Adventurous. Watch for v tiny peeping snout after I say ‘at the side there…’ 👀

Meanwhile the sight of my tiny posies (all are real flowers from my garden, two of them are in thimbles, yep) should have given you a tiny burst of good neurotransmitters if/when you came across them in your feed. Any sourpusses saying 'NO THEY DIDN'T'-OK Pamela, maybe you don't like puppies either 👀

Liquidambar leaf palette. This tree puts on such a stunning show in October. If you know of one growing near you maybe go and visit it -they look like a sycamore or maple that’s part of a Pride parade…intense leafy dopamine fireworks 🍁:
