Thank you, Ange. You gave me my best moment as a supporter of this club. Will be forever grateful for what you accomplished, how you defended the club and for making the right choice when it mattered. You “dared to do” and you did it for us fans. Tottenham Hotspur legend🤍

My take on Son staying or going this summer is simple: It should be his decision. A loyal club legend and the captain who finally broke our trophy drought. He has earned the right to determine how and when to end his time at Tottenham Hotspur. 🤍🫡

The amount of revisionist history I’m seeing is getting silly. Every time someone hits me with, “Our worst Premier League record ever,” the first thing I think is, “Our worst injury crisis EVER.” Feels so disingenuous to highlight one while minimizing or downplaying the other.

25/26 wishlist: 1. Keep Ange. 2. Squad: Add technical quality & experience. 3. Medical department: Fix it. 4. Training/rotation: Optimize intensity and squad utilization. 5. Philosophy: Tweak balance between idealism & pragmatism. 6. Coaching staff: Add defensive expertise.

Poch, Jose & Conte felt forced to prioritize the league over cups. Ange sacrificed the league for a trophy. So the actual and systematic issue is this club not giving coaches the resources to balance both. THAT should be the focus for those who want us to improve next season.

We have the same injury crisis but finish 5th but crash out of all the cups early and the same fans don’t call for his head. I’m absolutely certain.

There is an irony in the fact that those who hate Levy for prioritizing profits over glory are the least willing to trust the man who finally delivered the glory they so desperately craved—yet they trust Levy to appoint a coach better suited to secure profits.

You understand why it’s so hard to reach success when too much time passes between these moments. The way this experience has connected the fanbase and the team—and how vital that connection is to reaching glory—is immeasurable. 17years—never again🤍

Comparing Ange to ETH is lazy. • Ange implemented a CLEAR philosophy. • Ange built a solid foundation by recruiting well and young. • Ange’s players are 100% committed to him. • Ange won a more significant trophy, profoundly impacting Spurs future. They are NOT the same!

Tonight’s game will be won or lost based on our attitude. This is the biggest game in Bodø/Glimt’s history, and they’re playing in front of their home fans. They’ll throw everything they have at us. If we don’t match that energy and determination we won’t reach Bilbao. COYS🤍

Simon’s dead right here. It is what it is.

Took a couple of weeks off the other place and it’s been wonderful. Wrote a thread on my feelings on Ange at this stage and the responses immediately reminded me why I stayed away. I won’t be making that mistake any time soon. How are y’all feeling about Ange? It’s close to over isn’t it?

Re-watching Spurs v City and an unexpected realization hits me: This squad is like 6 players from being able to seriously and consistently compete in multiple competitions a season. Get us the right: • 2 defenders. • 2 midfielders. • 2 forwards. And we are right there.

Focusing on profiles rather than specific names it goes something like: Defenders: a left footed CB, attacking LB Midfield: quality/experienced #6, a right sided attacking 8. Forward: a backup ST, a quality and experienced left footed 1v1 specialist.

I’m tired. Everyone is desperate to make every result “existential” for Ange. No matter the context. Not how I think the club sees this project. One good thing they’ve done so far is sticking by Ange. They can re-evaluate his future in the summer. People should chill.

Liverpool fans feeling confident for tomorrow. • They sit top of the PL & CL table. • They got fully fit squad bar Trent. • They’ve gone 5/7 last couple of weeks. • They “only” play Plymouth Sunday. • They play at home. We’re the clear underdogs. Just how we like it😈

If people just sat down and actually watched Ange’s press conferences, a lot of the confusion and fear-mongering we see on this app would be avoided.

On Romero future: 🧵 A lot of fans are talking like Romero leaving this summer is a forgone conclusion. Lots of rumors flying around what his commitment to the club. But let’s forget the rumors for a second and just analyze the circumstances around his situation at the club⬇️

4. Ange. This summer will be when this project is supposed to go to the next level—selling Romero would us taking a step back. Ange LOVES Romero won’t accept him leaving without a like-for-like replacement. Names like Vusovic or Guehi are not like-for-like replacement.

Conclusion: All these things don’t mean Romero CANT leave. Maybe we get an offer we can’t and shouldn’t refuse. But the prospect is A LOT trickier that some want to make out. As I said earlier in this thread: Lots of moving parts and limitations to consider. THE END🧵

2. Contract. Romero has 2 years left on his deal (expires 2027) That means Levy STILL has most of the leverage in any negotiation. Romero not extending this summer won’t scare Levy into selling if the right deal isn’t available.

3. Age and injury history. Romero is 27 in April (29y 2027) He has an injury history that would worry clubs thinking about paying BIG money for him. A club like Madrid (for example😉) will have younger/cheaper options they can consider that come with less hassle/ more upside.

Let’s assume these things are true for the sake of it and play out what needs to be considered then. A player of his caliber wanting to leave doesn’t automatically mean the player WILL leave. Especially not immediately. Lots of moving parts and limitations to consider:

1. Levy. Our CEO has many faults but not recognizing the value of his best players is not one of them. Very few clubs can afford Romero to start with and he will want to go to a very limited number of clubs. Levy will also refuse to sell to any domestic clubs

Spurs will offer Romero a new contract. Will he accept it? Who knows. He might want to hold off and gauge the club’s ambition. I would. Maybe he has his heart set on leaving for a bigger club before his prime? That would be somewhat understandable.

I wish fans would ease up a bit on Lange. His hit rate is better & more diverse than Paratici’s. He’s even managed to sell players. I’m critical of our transfers strategy, but about us not doing enough, not the quality of our signings. That’s an ownership and ambition issue.

Option to buy now. Even better. This is a very talented prospect. Versatile, quick, technically skilled. Will get plenty of time and will improve our attacking options massively next couple of months imo.

I don’t think there’s anything to complain about regarding Tel deal being a straight loan. We’re competing for trophies THIS season, and we need help. He’s at one of the biggest clubs in the world and doesn’t want to be sold—he just wants playing time. It’s a win-win deal.

I know the table is depressing, and I understand that fans will feel anxious seeing us sitting in 16th place. But let’s be clear: Spurs are not going to get relegated.

I very much appreciate the compliment and gonna do my best🤍🥹

Hi @simonyemane.bsky.social , since you're the most sensible debater around here it would be very much appreciated if you post all your wise thoughts here on bluesky aswell. We need you here trying to build a new healthier enviroment than the youknowwhatplatform... COYS

Tomori would be a good signing imo. I’d prefer a loan but €25m is a good deal. Athletic, quick, versatile, reads the game well, home grown and experienced with with trophies to show. We could use someone like that in this squad.
