I had a chance to speak briefly with my Senate candidate (Sherrod Brown) last evening. I said that WHEN he is back in office there needs to be consequences for the criminality of this administration. No "peace and unity" business; consequences. He agreed. Of course. What else was he going to say?

I'm a poll worker. We've had to take renewed training for the upcoming election. Nothing new about processing voters. New training is on evacuating the polling sites, how to collect & protect the equipment, etc. This was not necessary, in this detail, before FOTUS started attacking the process.

2/2 then ask my friend to drop them in the ballot box. Her father was a MAGA Trumper. My friend leans blue. She thought about it. Made the decision to deposit her father's ballot but destroyed her mother's. Never told her father. But sure, let's worry about "illegals" voting.

A voting story: A friend told me recently that when her parents were still alive (both lived into their 90s but have since passed) and her mother had severe dementia, her father would request absentee ballots for both of them. He'd fill them out, persuade her mother to sign hers, 1/2

We need to consider a Constitutional amendment that dissolves Congress. They're useless. They do nothing; they're letting country be run by a demented, geriatric narcissist, oligarchs & a paid-for SCOTUS. Think of the money we'd save not paying their salaries, benefits, staff, etc.

I went to run an errand at the drugstore. I pulled up and there's a woman standing at a table outside, apparently soliciting $$ for some concern (I think it had to do with autism). I drove away. I don't want to be asked for money when I'm just out to buy conditioner. Please don't talk to me.

They're running a commercial here in Ohio for Vivek Ramaswamy featuring a guy claiming to be the barber who cuts VR's hair. Like a billionaire would get his hair cut by some overall-wearing MAGA? And who would brag about creating that hairstyle anyway? Geez.

That was unexpected. Wordle 1,873 3/6 โฌœโฌœโฌœโฌœโฌœ ๐ŸŸฉโฌœโฌœโฌœโฌœ ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ๐ŸŸฉ

Called my PCP to authorize an early refill on my thyroid medication as I am traveling and didn't have enough to cover my time away. Insurance refused to fill it without knowing where I was going AND the reason for my travel. Seriously, WTF? Basic thyroid meds, not narcotics, etc.

Had my annual checkup last week. PCP referred me to a dermatologist to have a couple spots on my face checked. First appointment available? January 2027. Thank goodness I don't live in Canada where I would need to wait months to see... Oh, wait...

I chose to receive a vaccination yesterday, the second shingles vaccine (had the first in Jan.). I'm feeling punky today. Some muscle aches, vague headache & fatigue. Sore arm. Are these the horrific "vaccine injuries" I hear about? Gotta go run some errands, I'll worry about my "injuries" later.

My mother, looking stylish, for Mother's Day. The irony is not lost on me that she's dressed to the nines while standing against her front porch in small-town rural New Hampshire. Where was she headed, dressed like that? I'll never know.

I was a poll worker here in Ohio yesterday for the primary election. Always an interesting experience. The lack of knowledge of the process by many voters is both amusing and concerning. I have several stories, but this is my favorite (clipped from an email to a friend):

FOTUS, VP & the Speaker of the House were all in attendance at the WHCD last evening where a(n alleged) shooter made it into the building & could've wreaked some havoc. Next in line for the presidency after those three is 112-year-old Chuck Grassley. We seriously need to get our act together.

Why were so many (all) the Cabinet members, Acting AG, FBI director, Erika Kirk, Speaker Johnson, creepy Stephen Miller, the press secretary, etc., etc. at the WHCD last evening? Do so many gov't officials routinely attend this event?

The irony here is OFF THE CHARTS. If not for "progressivism," this person wouldn't be an equal citizen in the USA, an attorney, a judge, or legally married to his white wife. Just to list a few benefits of "progressivism" he has enjoyed in his long life.

I'm tired of the verbiage of politicians "fighting" for me. I don't want public officials to "fight." I want them to work, competently and professionally. Why is that too much to ask? Why the constant adolescent focus on "fighting?"

Why are businesses/services so... thirsty? I go into the bank to deposit a couple checks. I receive an email, a text, and a phone call asking how my service was. I go to the pet store for cat food: an email follows, asking me to rate my experience. I'll let you know if I'm unhappy. Leave me alone.

Cat owners: Any other cat owners who need to wash their windows not solely to wash the windows, but because the cats have sneezed while gazing out of them and sprayed kitty snot on the glass? Anyone? Just me?

In solidarity with today's ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA blackout, MinnMax is donating $1 to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota for every share of this Bluesky post for the next hour.

I'm about 3 hrs. into the Jack Smith deposition video. I'd love to know what relevance the GOP whining about how poor DJT had to have lots of lawyers and be in DC, NY & FL for court appearances & "Big Law" never hires Republicans, etc., has to do with Smith's cases? (pg. 114-119 in the transcript).

Note to self: It was a rookie mistake. Always check the yield of a recipe before doubling it. Now I have WAY too many ginger snaps. Way too many. But the house smells good, I guess.

My electricity went out last evening and the first thing I did was check to see if any part of our country was under some sort of attack. That's the world we live in now. (Power company said it was an "equipment failure." It was out for three hours.)

A friend just told me her neighbor was recently "disappeared" by masked men, assumed to be ICE. They broke his car window and dragged him out of his car, directly in front of his condo (next door to hers). We live in suburban SW Ohio; there haven't been reports of ICE activity hereabouts.

It's Election Day in the USA. If you haven't voted yet, please make time today to do so. And be kind to your poll workers; some of us are not morning people but we arrive at the polls before the crack of dawn to make sure everything is in place to run smoothly. #ElectionDay

six packs of chicken and six of sausage if you turn down the cereal, bread, peanut butter, canned goods, milk, and fresh produce. He got quite belligerent and had to be escorted out. And that is why clients aren't allowed back to the shelves.

I volunteered at a food pantry this morning. We pack a cart based on the size of the family. Clients do not come back to the pantry. New client this morning insisted on seeing the pantry... and then tried to tell us what we were going to give him. No sir, that's not how it works. No, you can't have

My understanding is that every member of Congress has 15 to 18 staff members who work for them. Each one, 15 to 18 staff. How many of those positions have been eliminated in the DOGE efforts and now the shutdown purge? Curious minds would like to know.
