I know there's a lot going on, but the Secretary of Homeland Security declaring that federal troops are in California and Los Angeles to "liberate" the state and city from its duly-elected leaders really is a fourteen-alarm fire.
It's mind-blowing how little attention this extraordinary statement has received. It's briefly mentioned in a couple news articles, but this MSNBC opinion piece is the only extended discussion of it I've seen: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Nintendo executives are reportedly hoping you’re too preoccupied with Switch 2 news to remember they essentially enslaved a hacker fairly recently. paletteswap.site/dif...

I couldn't talk about this when we worked on Pokemon GO, but yes, that's not new. Niantic has a history of working with governments - with injection of investment from Google and Samsung - and making use of their consumers as "scouts". The worst part is they call it "community"
Pokemon Go players have been training an AI model of the world for its parent company, Niantic. These models may be sold to the military, an exec said at a conference. Said it would be "an issue" if they were used in active war www.404media.co/pokemon-go-d...
