the elves in the story do like to marry their best friend and try to form new companies and do stuff together. they can't have kids but they are romantic sometimes

ofc in reality, foster systems are infamous with stories of neglect and abuse but these are magical perfect ass elves that figured it out and provide for their communal children with enthusiasm.

there is one elf that lives inside the land. she shows up near the end of the story and is unkillable, practically godlike lol

most of the companies are run by like 10 or less people, so the company is sort of their family. the land they live on is the "biological mom" of all of the elves on the land and above it.
