Despite 2025’s various agonies, I achieved both of my resolutions: 1. Run a mile every week (if i don’t go on a 5+ mile hike) 2. Do an oil painting for every month

The way you have to book group camp sites 6 months to 1 year out, with each location having a different process and registration window 🤪

I try to organize 1-3 group camps with friends a year, so if you’re a friend who’s interested coming some time, chat me up :}

Fish friday. Maybe if the fish is fictional it’ll work better? Fictional fish. Fishctional.

Trying out the fish theory. Dunno if it worked.

Took Sabo on his first van camping trip. He was a good boy, though he loses some points for demanding half the bed space and then throwing a tantrum whenever we stopped petting him.

Saw a big northern red-legged frog while camping. They were incredibly chill. Just sat on a mossy rock, unmoving, staring at the river for three hours. I know this because i was sitting near by also staring at the river unmoving for three hours as i was painting… Shoulda painted that frog 😔🐸

Take a break from being depressed that everything you love is being destroyed by slop for a moment and let me tell you about the beautiful symbiotic relationship between graffiti writers, train yard workers, and model train enthusiasts.

Got a one of those xteink e-readers a couple weeks ago. Love the thing! Small enough it comes alongside the wallet and keys every day. Find myself reading pages instead of doomscrolling when bored. Been using it daily for two weeks, still haven’t recharged it. An incredible camping accessory. 📖

Our original weekend plans got smoked out, so we last minute pivoted to backpacking along a river on the olympic peninsula. Not the kind of trip i would have done otherwise but ended up being a wonderfully relaxing time. Saw a river otter pass our camp and so many shooting stars at night.

We saw a mysterious mustelid near Nada Lake on our Enchantments hike. The encounter stuck with me, so i wanted to try and sketch the sighting from memory.

Back from spending 4 amazing days backpacking the Enchantments! The most hiking I've done in a weekend. With the two ascents to the core: ~50 miles with 8000 feet of elevation. Glad we could camp, had plenty of time to explore and enjoy it compared to the thru hikers that usually seemed rushed.

Backpacked the Enchantments 🏔️ over the weekend. Longest and most challenging hike I've ever done. Wont forget it any time soon!

Got lucky and won a permit to go backpacking in the Enchantments 🏔️ One of the hardest hikes I’ve ever done, but more than worth it to spend three nights in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

Hiked 2miles up 1800ft of elevation with 25lbs of weight in a pack yesterday… and i dont even feel sore today! That would have destroyed my body two years ago. Incredibly cool that the work i’ve been putting in is actually doing something 😎

Names and character sheets for this duo. Aldwin is an engineer selected to be the city’s annual ambassador to their strange and distant artistic god, Meraki, who draws and paints their world into existence. I’ll be tagging everything related to these characters with #DivineInspo
