I was recently asked my favourite question about the stuff I wrote for Warhammer, so I’m repeating the answer here. The question is often asked in a variety of phrasing is: what’s the best thing about writing for Warhammer?

It is, and always has been, the reward of having people - often female, sometimes little girls - tell me that they stopped feeling awkward about getting into a male-dominated hobby. It honestly is the very best thing I could ever have wanted.

Out of context Cthulu. Posit: a hunting horror has just stuck its head through my lounge window. Ben's character: 'Quick! Into the kitchen!' My character, currently panicking: 'WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO, CHARLES? MAKE IT A SANDWICH?'

ɪɴ ᴄᴀꜱᴇ ʏᴏᴜ ᴍɪꜱꜱᴇᴅ ɪᴛ... We released two new books today! Make sure to pick up The Cost of True Magic by C.L. Werner in ebook/paperback and The Investigators of Arkham Horror in audiobook format, edited by Katrina Ostrander and narrated by Todd Menesses wherever you purchase books!

Been listening to the Echoes of Memory audio book (because the novelty of having one of my books on audio hasn’t worn off) and oh, boy, I love the dynamic between Connor and Suffi-An so much. The grouch and the ball of (murderous) sunshine <3

In my never ending efforts to try self-promoting, here is a list of the many things I’ve written and had published over the years. Super-proud that the last two novels were both nominated for Scribe Awards! pyroriffic.wordpress.com/about/

They called him ‘Lightning’. Not because he was witty and given his bulky, 6’4” frame definitely not because of any startling turn of speed. No, they called him ‘Lightning’ because when that bastard struck you, you knew about it. #thingsinthedropbox

'I have more faith than you could imagine, First Captain. When you place yourself at the mercy of the Warp, a little faith goes a long way. Imagine how far a lot will take you.' -- Prognosticar Bhehan, Silver Skulls Chapter

“There may be strength in numbers, but there is solace in singularity.” Me, in my dream last night when I was LRPing as a spirit of a long-dead pirate. Woke up thinking ‘what a cool line.’

Occasionally, I’ll see a post on Reddit where someone says they’ve done a definite author list for BL and every single one of them always forgets my existence. In your face, Invisible Man.

It's that time of year again when I thank everyone who's ever picked up a copy of anything I've written. You genuinely don't know just how much that means to me, I suspect, but it's a lot. Thank you <3

I loved Tim Curry in many things, just as I’m sure you all did. But I will always have two particular soft spots. Farley in The Shadow and Gaal in Earth 2. GNU Tim Curry. Mind how you go.

I heard a rumour last night that the audiobook version of Echoes of Memory may be available in the next week! This is super exciting for me because it’s the first time ever that one of my novels has become an audiobook. Further bulletins as events warrant.

never thought short form video would be able to capture a type of humor i can only describe as “the far side-esque” but this comes close.

His senses fired the second he emerged. Firstly, the creeping chill. The kind of cold that would reach your bones in minutes and leave you yearning for the good old days of ten minutes ago when you’d been in the pressure-sealed cockpit. #amwriting

I didn’t win the Scribe Award, but remain delighted to have been nominated. I get to say I’m a twice-nominated writer now! Congratulations to all winners and nominees. It means so much to make it to final nomination.

An insight into how my brain works. Everyone in the Universe: … Me, unprompted and without knowing how my brain got there: Why did nobody ever question why Phineas and Ferb had a pet platypus?

Well, this was lovely to wake up to!
