This is so important to know! The number of games I've seen miss their release date due to this in recent months is not insignificant and completely derails launch momentum.

Game developers who plan to release a game on #Steam: the time for a build review displayed is completely outdated! It used to be 3-5 days, but nowadays, it takes around 2 weeks for each round of review. You might need 4-6 weeks if have fixes to make. Plan accordingly!

My first job in the industry was working on a Dragon Age title. End of an era to lose BioWare (although perhaps that era has been done for a long time). Nonetheless, I hope that all those talented folks can move on to make something new and exciting.

Excluding FFXIV, I genuinely can't remember the last AAA game I played. It genuinely might be Breath of the Wild (released almost 10 years ago). ๐Ÿค” There's just so much better experiences out there in the indie and AA space.

Bwahaha. It's an ongoing joke in my friend group that I always run Slay the Spire 1&2 with 40+ card decks. ๐Ÿ˜… The Silent with shiv & 0 cost cards is totally feasible imo

Deckbuilders have a quiet problem: the best run is usually the one where you removed cards, not added them. Do you actually enjoy thinning your deck, or do you wish the game rewarded building wider? #deckbuilder #roguelike #indiegames

Watching people (men) be yet again baffled by the success of a game made with a hugely underserved audience (women) in mind and excellent execution. These gamers just don't understand the industry they supposedly love so much. TLDR: Play Dressmaker! It's fantastic.

Soon there'll be no dev studios left. ๐Ÿค” I just don't understand how they hope to make money in the future if they don't have anyone making games? Spend money to make money.

Has anyone else noticed the rise of animated cartoon game trailers in the last few years? Are they not just more stylised versions of live action trailers? Ie. Pointless because they don't actually show gameplay? Can't just be me that finds them frustrating.

Ocarina looks expensive as fuck. Do I want this? I don't know. The 3DS version was already a great 1:1 HD remake; I don't think this one is made for the nostalgia folks, in the same way the FFVII remake wasn't for them either.

I get that people like their physical collections and I agree that already weak consumer rights are being even more risky... But is nobody at least a little happy about the production of less plastic? ๐Ÿค”

Just launched Disco Elysium for the first time in 14 months and loaded up a mid-game save, that I never completed. I remember even less than Harry does, so it's basically an enhanced playthrough. ๐Ÿ‘

Folks seem upset with Steam's redesign, saying that it's worse for hidden indie gems, but I've never seen a "hidden" gem on the home page? The thrill is in the hunt when it comes to finding truly niche games. The personal calendar feature is the 1st time I've seen recommendations that actually work.

Getting ready for the post-SGF fatigue. It's a fantastic opportunity as a dev to get eyes on your game, but as a player, there's just too much. The amount of betas that are gonna launch next week... How do you plan for your title to stand out? ๐Ÿค”

You are up to date.
