Ch'p: "God, even though they left us hanging like nuts on a tree. They still put faith in us to continue our work and to rethink what they will do next." Sallak: "I think they are dumb and left to go on a sex vacation."

Polaris: "Let's jump them while they are building their hous-THEY ARE BUILDING THEIR OWN HOUSE?!!?!" Sonar: "Libertarian dogs. Be proud of your country's culture and buy a two story family home in the suburbs."

Ch'p was erased in the crisis. But because of the Oa bubble. He was spared and is now in a universe where he has no history beyond the corps. And he is able to continue with a slight smile.

And Salaak is heading to Earth simply because he is lonely. He liked working with the others, and being alone in such a big sector got to him. And Ch'p saw this in his eyes despite Salaak holding back, saying he was happy to see his friends again. Giving him a pat on the back to cheer him up.

"I have complete faith in my partner, Appa." "But, I read you said-" "NOT CANON" "but-" "NOT CANON"

Such a shame Green Arrow would become cut off from the rest of DC during this period. He and Guy would be funny as fuck together.

Hal: "You could've been so good, Guy." Guy: "HA, says the lib who follows the rules! You just follow commands like a laptop." Hal: "I'll tell you Guy, after learning about the cancer that infects this country. Became more progressive and less attack dog." Guy: "The what?" SS: "It's a long story."

Literally, Hal, Arisia and Ch'P with Salakk shaking his head in disapproval in the corner.

Back on proper GREEN Lantern. This cover is fucking hilarious to me, both on a dark angle because I know what is coming with both Hal and Arisia. But also Hal going, "Dang, I'm pretty."

Guardian #12: "Guys we suck." Jokes aside, this is probably the first time I've seen the Guardians questioning themselves and it's done well here. Helps that it was over Crisis on Infinite Earths and not like "The Original Lantern has returned!"

Guy Gardner: "Ha, I know how your society works, Star Sapphire. I read a book. And reading is power." Star Sapphire: "...God, you really were a high school gym teacher." Guy: "What's that supposed to mean?"

Seeing a post-crisis book talk about the universe after the crisis, their losses, and where to go next is fascinating. Most either continued on without addressing it after the fact or started fresh again entirely. The only other one that comes to mind is Dr. Fate's mini.

Guy Gardner shrugging like John Goodman: "How was I supposed to know this was bad?" GL villains: "Aren't you supposed to be the leader?" Guy still shrugging like John Goodman: "I only woke up two days ago."

Genuinely, awful plotline. The most outwardly 80s [negaitve] aspect of the book so far.

Sigh, then just say she is Carol instead of an extension. You are overcomplicating shit, man. I wanna get out of this scene so bad.

The moment Carol enters any scene, the quality of the comic drops like an anvil being dropped into the ocean. And the man tied to it is named Hal Jordan.

Guardian #12: "Hal Jordan, instead of spending the entire issue fighting a goofy Wolfman villain. You will deal with your ex." Hal: "...But, why?" Guardian #12: "We've been robbed of easy drama for too long."

I wonder who made Arisia like this? She was also characterized like this under Wein except we don't have a comedy routine with Ch'P so it's just done straight there

Hal: "It's great to be back with scrimblos and glup shittos." John: "Hey, I'm co-lead of this comic." Ch'P: "John, we are B-listers in mid-80s DC. We are all glup shittos." John: "...This is dire."
