Here's a superb and fairly thorough report on the Christian Nationalist weirdo, Katy Cornell, running for WA State Rep in the Bremerton/Gig Harbor area.

Hemant Mehta@friendlyatheist.com

WA House candidate Katy Cornell claims she's a "common-sense Republican" who wants unity. She's also a pastor whose church removed her controversial sermons from YouTube. But they were too late. Now those sermons are coming back to haunt her. www.friendlyatheist.com/p/the-sermon...

I kinda like that the ballot measure to give the public have a say in 2% of the general fund is understood by the cops to mean that the public will want to give less money to the cops. It's like they, better than anyone, know the public wants alternatives to cops and prisons but they'll don't care.

DO NOT seek relationship advice from purity culture fundamentalists, no matter what religion they're from. They're interested in control and it's often based on patriarchy, misogyny, and hierarchy.

He says men are dysfunctional because they don't know how to "love women well." By that he means men need to refuse to say nice things to women and refuse to look them in the eyes because the men won't be able to control their lusts... Forcing women to all wear veils is the solution. (sarcasm)

You know what we need? We need some self-righteous fundamentalists to correct people who are struggling and fighting against cancer. Gotta make sure to push-down on people who are desperate and suffering to show your religious superiority.

The pastor teaches you aren't supposed to say nice things or complement people of the oppose sex who aren't your spouse because it might make you have feelings that you should only have for your spouse. This is patriarchal morality police.

Right after the "joke" about his wife's appearance, Kirkpatrick teaches it's not okay to say "fuck cancer" except he censored the word fuck because it's to vulgar of a word to use because when you use it like that, it's curse against cancer. Fundamentalists have all kinds of made-up morality rules.

Here's another clip where the pastors are really excited about how this gruesome murder of children and a teacher has launched their ministry with such momentum. Kinda gross right?

In classic white evangelical patriarchal style, Kirkpatrick "jokes" about his wife getting "Botox and bigger lips" to the other pastors when his wife's away. It's just a joke, come-on, let's normalize objectifying our wives with the bros, come-on it's so funny. Boys will be boys...

I found a post about elderly white men in Salem, OR approaching unaccompanied kids after school proselytizing and handing out Bibles as the kids were walking home. It's disturbing but freedom of religion doesn't mean parents have a right to control what their kids hear in public places.

The irony - these same groups are often the groups who are against kids learning about other religions in public schools and try to prevent equal rights for LGBTQ+ kids and families. They're the book banning club because they want the Bible and their right-wing interpretation to be the only choice.

Yeah, Gideons International members must be cishet men (that's a requirement) and they must believe marriage is solely for one cishet man and one cishet woman relationships. It's a male supremacist org. Women can help if their husband allows it and the husband is a member in good standing.

Freedom of religion means the government doesn't choose a religion and elevate it above the others, doesn't discriminate. Parents can try to isolate their kids from outside influences but they don't have a legal right to control all influences in public.

Often people use the term "Parents' Rights" to mean parents have totalitarian control of what their kids learn in all areas of society. That's just not the case, I know fundamentalist extremists would like that to be true, but kids should have influences outside their parents' control.

I'm glad Journey church was available to help. I'm not excited about how they celebrate the tragedy as a way to proselytize and enlarge their little church kingdom. "I'm really sorry your kids died, but look at our numbers PRAISE JESUS!" #Opportunists

Journey Church is part of The Father's House Network of churches. Why do they make this info so hard to find? TFH Network is founded by megachurch pastor Dave Patterson based in Vacaville, CA.

When I was a Christian, I was taught spiritual bypassing by saying "God always works together for good." Kirkpatrick here talking about the school shooting in his neighborhood and how he believes there's a good outcome from the shooting and deaths - church unity and winning souls...

Of course Kirkpatrick responds with arrogance by saying anyone who opposes his right-wing fundamentalist Christian Nationalist sect is an agent of the "devil." He demonizes people who have different religious, political, and social beliefs.

What are the chances Journey Church starts deleting content from their youtube page so they don't have to be held accountable for the shit they say about their neighbors and the other Christians in their town?

They had people from their church infiltrating the Pride Festival trying to get people into conversations so they could proselytize them into their anti-LGBTQ+ version of Christianity. It's the bait-and-switch in an effort to do conversion therapy on unsuspecting people.

Kirkpatrick claims he's being persecuted and his name drug through the mud because of their proselytizing and conversion therapy attempts at the Pride Festival. He thinks there shouldn't be social consequences for being a christofascist and spreading anti-LGBTQ+ hateful propaganda.

The Journey Church pastor, Keith Kirkpatrick, was educated at the private Christian college, Azusa Pacific, was a youth pastor for 6 years at Faith Community Church and then a pastor for 4 years at New Hope Church. The church didn't come from nowhere.

It's pretty wild over there on Kirkpatrick's podcast. He talks about living life as an anti-LGBTQ+ queerphobe, he talks about witches putting hexes and curses on him. All kinds of MAGA white evangelical bs.

I do think it's funny when a generic white evangelical church tries to brand itself as a "church for people who don't like church" but then create all the same characteristics of other generic white evangelical MAGA churches.

Journey Church had already planned the Kingdom Conference prior to the shooting so the Christian Nationalists were already scheduled to come to Bend and recruit people for extremism. At one church service Ross Johnston claimed the title: Christian white Nationalist.

The school shooting in Bend that happened recently, Journey Church was used as the district’s reunification center. Now the far-right grifters are swooping in to use the tragedy as a recruitment tool for Christofascism.

The church has a very generic origin statement. It kind of just started in 2010 out of nothing, just one heroic man: "Journey Church was planted by Keith Kirkpatrick, who dreamed of starting a brand new church which aimed to create a place for those who don’t like church to find Jesus."

Christian Nationalist and Zionist, Aaron Taylor, from Springfield, Oregon, has been traveling around Israel. For some reason he posted 9 pictures of these young women IDF soldiers. Like, he started taking a bunch of close-ups and posted them. Creepy christofascist.

While celebrating the overturning of Roe v Wade, Aaron Taylor says there's been an "attack on masculinity." Sure man, it's gotta be the men who are being attacked. These male supremacists are so fragile.

Here's Jordan Shaw telling people you "cannot be a Christian and support the Democratic Party and their policies." He says the Republican Party more closely aligns to the word of god. MAGA Christofascists are a trip.

Seeing a lot of this now: "If you don't obey me and vote MAGA, then you're sinning and going to hell..." (paraphrasing) Here's the fundamentalist anti-LGBTQ+, anti-abortionist Christian Nationalist Dr. Alveda King. They're trying to undermine democracy by making their religion the LAW.

The "platform" isn't forcing you to have abortions or have transgender surgery. If your religion tells you not to do those things, then those rules apply to you and you're free to follow them (or not). My religion tells me I can do those things and I don't have to obey your fundamentalist decrees.

This bro speaks with such authority - you must obey the young white Christian Nationalist and his decrees (sarcasm). So many youth pastors are very zealous and teach impressionable kids all kinds of bs.
