I don’t want to be that person, judging people’s choices, but it just occurred to me that if one really wants to hurt MAGA, one should just ban cosmetic surgery. Just putting it out there. Kristi Noem for example……🤷‍♂️

A few thoughts on the current US situation. Trump is a major threat, in many ways. This has been known since his first term. However trying to stop him by doing the same things which one would slam him for doing, is simply not the way.

Talking openly, honestly, and without anger, is still the best way to change society. Believe it or not, most of us want the same core things. We all want to be safe, to support our families, to feel heard, to be healthy, and to be able to live a decent life.

We need to not underestimate the power of engagement, and of human interaction. It has enormous power to change even the most horrendous of beliefs. The majority of people aren’t hardliners, they are simply influenced by information. Their views can be changed, so let’s keep trying.

If Dems, and non Trump supporters try to stop the count, or the inauguration, or want Biden, to try and somehow stay in power, it will be even worse. Such actions will destroy the little semblance of respect for democracy that remains, and only make MAGA supporters more emboldened.

The way to beat Trump, is to try and make sure that decent politicians are in Congress, so that there is a check on his ability to do bad things. People also need to engage with others, including MAGA-supporters.

Who would have thought that Trump, would now seem like the tamer option? How bad is it, that we now have to worry more about Musk, than even Trump. What’s worse is that the attention to Musk, makes Trump, seek more ways to assert his power, and so more prone to crazy actions.

Also, courage is contagious. I continue to stand against American fascism in the hope that others will take heart, too.
