Gotta love how, when you try to open up Google Docs in a browser on an iPad, it forces you to open the Docs app. I'm trying to paste from markdown, which you can do in the browser, but not in the app. There is no graceful workaround.

I have a PDF of a pedagogical book for photo educators. It was never commercially sold, just printed and distributed directly to teachers after it was released. It's free to use. I want a physical copy, but so far I can't find a service that'll print it, despite being free for use in education.

The ridiculous part about this whole thing is that the people who made it would be totally fine with me printing a copy for myself so I can make better use of it. I'm not selling it, I just want it because it'll help me be a better teacher. That's why they made it in the first place.

So I'm having to investigate less-ethical printers to print something that I'm allowed to use in the way I want to use it, but can't do domestically because printers want to follow copyright law, which doesn't actually apply in this case.

I just want a physical copy for my own use, but I want it properly bound, and I don't want to be printing a 480-page reference book at the convenience store one chapter at a time. Maybe need to look into printing options in countries that don't care so much about IP law

Let me ask for your help. New baby is here and we couldn't be happier, but we also have a sick cat and expenses are piling up. I offer a variety of services, and if you can hire me, that would be great, but you can also help by helping me reach more people. Shares appreciated!

Tokyo/Japan people! Continuing to minimize. Any interest in this Zero Halliburton briefcase? I like it but never use it any more. ¥5,000 plus shipping or come pick it up in Saitama.

Just a reminder that you can get my zine about experiments in exploring Tokyo in several ways. Kindle ebook, epub/printable pdf download, or I can even make you one and send it in the mail (though I have had to raise prices slightly on that as I set them too low initially).

I've now set it up so that, if you want me to make and mail you a physical copy of this zine, that's an easy thing to do. ¥500/copy within Japan, ¥750/copy internationally. As always, shares are sincerely appreciated Purchase link at the bottom of the page: aleatorist.com/how-to-get-l...

You should hire me. Why? Because I'm good at what I do, you'll get great photos, and I'm easy to work with. You're also actively helping out my bottom line. It's rough out there, and every job I get helps me pay rent, buy diapers and formula, and get care for my sick cat.

You deserve a portrait that you like, made in a way that's enjoyable, even if you don't like being in front of the camera. I make portraits on location across Tokyo. Make an advance booking now and get ¥10,000 off my regular rate. Let's make something great together.

So I've been learning how to do all kinds of stuff one-handed, recently. In university, I broke my right hand and had to learn to do everything with my left hand. This is different. Still get to use my dominant hand, but this also often involves all sorts of improvised songs.

I do portraits and other types of photography, nonfiction writing, photography education, EFL education, photo walks, and experimental walking tours in Tokyo. Heck, I even do a bit of consulting now and then. Think I might be able to help you with something? Just get in touch.

A milestone! The baby's been home for a month now, and today the cat, who is the gentlest, sweetest guy, snuggled up next to the baby. Even kept purring while she wiggled and inadvertently hit and kicked him.
