Time for a bit of a reintroduction. Hello! We’re Anna and Sophie, co-founders of SOUNDYARD, an award winning not-for-profit audio company celebrating our fourth birthday this year. From studio hire, to podcasts and projects, why not take a look at our website to find out more: www.soundyard.org

Come along to our first Podcast Club on Saturday 7th November, 10am-12pm here at SOUNDYARD. It’ll be a relaxed and friendly session, we’ll listen to a podcast, have a chat about it, drink some tea, eat some pastries. A bit like a book club but for podcasts! It’s free and there’s no need to book.

Our Found Sound this week is an international one, thanks to Anna taking a trip to Italy! This is the beautiful Fountain of Neptune (Fontana del Nettuno) located at the Northern end of Piazza Navona in Rome. In the background is the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone, and it's cacophony of bells.

Back by popular demand! Join us for our Develop a Podcast workshop. These are relaxed, practical sessions for anyone who’s curious about podcasting and would like to have a go. Saturday 21st November, 10am-12.30pm here at SOUNDYARD. Places are £75, email us at hello@soundyard.org to book.

Our Found Sound this week is brought to you by the buzzing of the ivy bees. If you've seen the abundance of ivy flowers this month due to the warmer weather, you'll have heard a collective hum amongst these beautiful umbrella-shaped clusters of green and yellow. 🐝

🎧 We're launching a new relaxed monthly gathering to discover and share brilliant podcasts, enjoy a cuppa and spend time with fellow audio-fans. Starting in November, Podcast Club will run every 1st Saturday of the month, 10am-12pm here at SOUNDYARD. More details soon....

Podcasts! We've been really busy recording audio projects and books this summer, but we'd love to welcome some more podcasters into the studio. We've also just updated our set up for video podcasts, so there's loads of options. Email us hello@soundyard.org for bookings and to discuss your needs.

We've worked on some great audio projects over the summer. Including this recording of 'Shamble', an audio drama set here in Norfolk. Written by Martha Allison, the piece is part of The Coastlife Sheringham Little Theatre Playwriting Prize supported by Sheringham Little Theatre.

We're sharing some of our found sounds. Being audio lovers we often find ourselves capturing sounds and moments when we're out and about. Here's one from Anna (and one of the smallest members of the SOUNDYARD team), ringing the bell sculpture on Happisburgh beach.

Great to have Sir Norman Lamb, former Health Minister, NHS trust chair, and dedicated mental health campaigner, in the studio recently to record audio for his new book 'Be More Human'. If you'd like to come and record with us, find out more here: www.soundyard.org/studio

Thanks to the brilliant team at Barrington Farm for inviting us to be part of their Summer Sounds open day. We loved hearing and recording the performances, and exploring their art work (neither of us could resist buying some!). Part of their grassroots music and sound project RoaR Radio 📻

Over the summer we spent time in Hemsby recording memories of the golden era of it's iconic holiday camps. This audio documentary commemorates a seaside world that shaped generations, just as the coastline itself begins to change. The Holiday Makers is available now wherever you get your podcasts.

The Broadly Speaking podcast is now out in the world! We have loved helping to produce this one, learning so much about our local ecology along the way. Hosted by Andrea Kelly from the Broads Authority, this new series explores the Broads' peatlands, and is available wherever you get your podcasts.

Whilst everyone was enjoying the Betwixtmas, we had a little break from the mince pies and spent some time in the studio working on something exciting. Filming a new podcast all about movement for a national charity, and getting to work with filmmaker Kami! Looking forward to sharing more soon...
