Dems would just shrug and eat their young. At least the GOP is willing to protect their little monsters in hopes they grow to be big monsters.

Today I realized I've been doing developer relations my entire career. In the past, people I met at conferences told me my Usenet posts were helpful. Today, someone introduced themselves and said my blog posts helped them out. Happy that screaming into the void has been of use.

Why do people diagnosed and are apparently terminally ill fight so hard to get better? You're born to die, so you might as well do whatever the fuck you want because what are the consequences?

This begs for an autotune

The 2028 presidential primaries are 16 months away, but Democrats are making moves to enter the race. While none have officially declared their candidacy, many are signaling their intentions through speeches, book releases and campaign activities. https://wapo.st/4iFiXHi

Judging from the Reflecting Pool debacle, the contractors hired seem to take shortcuts and do shoddy work. None of this will last more than a decade or so.

The backlash to closed models that harvest data from any and all sources will be sovereign models built on open weight models. While the providers compete on harness, individual enterprises will compete on the efficacy of sovereign models. Go open weights, young man. www.ft.com/content/4858...

Have any Dems really gone hard on the USAID death toll? It’s one of those stories I’d bet a lot of people don’t even know yet.

I've already completed my 6 month goals, which frees me up to fix technical debt and build stuff instead of running in place just to keep up.

People are getting mad at Isaiah about this - “why do you have to work so fast?” - but like if my employer is paying me to frame houses, and I can frame a wall a day with a hammer or 10 walls a day with a nail gun, it’s pretty obvious which tool they’re gonna require me to use

I worked on USAID projects, people always suspected I was CIA because I was attached to a USAID project.

SE Gyges@segyges.bsky.social

USAID was a good cover for CIA officers specifically because they were almost universally welcome and well-regarded everywhere on Earth. if someone nefarious isn't trying to recruit your employees it's because you're low-impact

shows about the CIA, plot vs kinetic Lioness: 10% plot, 90% kinetic The Agency: 70% plot, 30% kinetic The Diplomat: 90% plot, 10% kinetic

I, too, have reached an age where my emotional quotient has reached IDGAF. Not in a rude or hurtful way, but IDGAF what people think about me. It is extremely liberating.

I use Claude to write documentation because: - We don't have a technical writer on staff. - I want it to be ASD-STE100 compliant. - Claude can review and find inconsistencies. - It can draw diagrams. My team and I review it before publishing. I have no problem with Claude watermarking.

- dork - nonproblem - remote access - natural language processing - free-fire zone

I do this for shooting competitions, especially if they are held near National Parks like Zion. Going to F1 in Mexico City because I have close friends who are into F1. It's also going to be the same weekend as Day of the Dead. Should be wild. Had the same thought when I saw the title. Times.

lol, we get "reduce power usage" warnings daily in both the summer and winter in FUCKING TEXAS

Christopher Webb@cwebbonline.com

Mamdani is trying to prevent New York’s power grid from failing, you idiot. 78° by choice is a lot better than 100° without electricity.

I really liked Supergirl because it wasn't about saving the world from a big bad. It was an 80's movie where the main character was lost, but got her shit together to fight the good fight against human traffickers. Not every " Avenge My Dog " movie has to have a body count or close-up death scenes.

Because no one ever tells me anything, I just found out that the ebook of THE PERDITION SCORE is on sale for $1.99 and the ebook of THE GRAND DARK is $6.99. They're available in all your favorite formats. (US only probably. I don't know. Like I said, no one tells me these things)
