The new hotness on social media is to snap a photo of something really mundane, pretend like it's an impenetrable mystery, and claim to have called the cops to investigate it. From what I've seen, it seems to drive engagement like gangbusters. I call the police on every single post like this.

I've been getting a weekly text from a coffee shop with discounts and deals. My problem is that I have no idea where this coffee shop is. Their name is very common, and I know of at least three in various states I visit. Without a map or link to their website, I'm kind of at a loss.

Waste Management's website does a terrible job of helping users understand when their next pickup will be after a holiday. It also doesn't have any facility to modify service options. Somehow, I've been signed up for yard waste disposal for years, but I certainly never received a bin for that. :(

These tracked cars are in the $200-250k range, with some options pushing prices higher. The Mustang starts around $300k. The GR GT, though, is projected to be in the $350k range, putting it about 50% higher in price with lower specs. Can a Toyota really compete in this segment? Does it want to?

It's such a weird world we live in. Safety, trust, and belonging, we are told, emerge from more contact and interaction with others, building familiarity and connection. But when it comes down to brass tacks, separation and exclusion seem to be the way people maintain their bubbles today.

Finally some positive developments in this horrifying story from Rhode Island.

Col. Oscar Perez, chief of the Providence police, confirmed at a news conference that the detained person was in their 30s and that authorities are not currently searching for anyone else. He declined to say where the person was arrested and whether the person was connected to the university.

I know John Cena’s farewell tour ends today, but let’s be serious here for a minute. He retired years ago and was dragged back into this for no good reason. If these guys want to come back and soak up some adoration, fine. But let’s not pretend that THIS is the time they’re actually going away.
