I used to work with voice recognition software and it would give you a % confidence level of it's recognition of the speaker's words. Putting this out without being a bit more specific about the word 'believe' is telling on itself. Difference between 'I believe' and 'I would bet my house'.

DA DAVIDSON ups $AVGO: “.. Our reading of the Anthropic S1 leads us to believe the IPO will proceed .. and next year OpenAI will raise more capital in its own IPO, allowing Broadcom to meet its expectations .. AVGO is trading as if the chances of that happening are near zero ..”

No clue why the Fed would hold as persistent above-target inflation proceeds apace and shocks show no sign of abating. Seems to be consensus that they will but I just don't get it. The grant of credibility given by a single 25bp hike seems way over-the-top. #EconSky

🧵 Matt Yglesias is one of the biggest reasons the Democratic Party leadership is so feckless, cowardly, and lazy. I'm not exaggerating. Yglesias is often a featured speaker at private Democratic Party events, despite almost always being wrong. Let's discuss...

A helpfully clear exchange here Hasan: "So your argument is that [Minnesota ICE protesters] should stay at home because immigration is a salient issue for Donald Trump. Opposing ICE is only going to help Trump. Wait until we win the election in 2028." Yglesias: "Yes that is what I would have said"

New from me: The US has faced a higher cost than any other country from the global Hormuz oil shock, with the crisis adding $160 billion to its fuel bill — or $471 per person on average — despite being the world’s largest oil producer.

JUST POSTED: Today at The NYT we are publishing a major investigation into how President Trump used his executive powers to expose millions of Americans to greater cancer risks. A six month-long investigation built on more than 10,000 pages of FOIA records. Read it www.nytimes.com/2026/10/24/c...

Older I get the more I appreciate _functional_ players. Sure I love the beautiful strokes and dynamics of super talents but the odd prep/strokes are always a mystery. I know _contact is everything_. What happens before & after is aesthetics but sometimes there is mystery involved. #TennisSky

Ok here are the deals. MFA <=> 1 ballroom Tax reform <=> 1 arch Tariff restrictions <=> 1 Eisenhower building paint job etc etc I guarantee he will sign them.

Florida TV reporter asks Trump how he would work with a Democratic Congress: "It'll work because I'll be vetoing everything. And then they're going to call and say, 'how do we get something passed' and we'll make a deal." www.winknews.com/news/southwe...

This would be the most any person has donated in any election cycle. And #2 is also Musk, in 2024.

Ignoring the fact that courts already ruled on the participants of the election. I could conceive of a lawsuit to a higher court or on different grounds saying 'set aside the result because it's unfair.' Saying 'set it aside only if we lose" with we not being the party but the DOJ? That's CRAZY

The Republican Party's closing message to voters is basically "there is a non-zero chance that we will send armed state agents to drag you from your home if you try to participate in democracy." Vile and pathetic.

ballsandstrikes.substack.comDonald Trump Wants You to Be Afraid to VoteRepublicans are embracing a time-honored method of voter suppression: making people they deem undesirable understand that participating in democracy carries at least some personal risk.

Imagine all the progress we never have made if we only moved forward after the crowd changed instead of righteous leaders saying we should what is good and worthwhile.

If it is possible to know which specific companies are now going to be selling Russian fuel in the US, someone please let us all know because that’s something many of us want to know.

Trump says it's important to listen to rapist's accomplices. I wish this idea were a new thing in his head.

Q: Now that you know the backstory about Amy Acton and her stepfather and why she hasn't talked to her mom in so long -- her stepfather was indicted for rape -- do you change your mind about the ad? TRUMP: No. No. It's a mother speaking badly against Amy Acton. You don't know anything.

The US has been the big winner of the post WWII international order so it taking steps to destabilize it is just shooting itself in it's foot. Soft power - gone Dollar dominance - waning Military might - degraded Tech/Arms sales - diminished Research - degraded Tourism - down. eating the seed corn

The use of the term 'warfighter' should be disqualifying for participation in any way in national security matters. It is clearly signaling a Hegsethian mindset of 'move fast and break things' which is not a basis for a secure and stable international order.
