I got to know Walter Koenig through our connections to BABYLON 5, but grew up watching him on STAR TREK, as so many of us did. Got to know him in later years well enough to ask him for an interview for my documentary BACKYARD BLOCKBUSTERS, which he graciously did. Be seeing you, my friend.

Iโ€™m very sad to hear of the passing of Walter Koenig, aka Pavel Chekov from Star Trek. I got to meet him on a few occasions, and he was always genuine, thoughtful, and a little anxious in a way that made him very relatable. R.I.P.

Saint Crispin's Day, or the Feast of Saint Crispin, falls on 25 October and is the feast day of the Christian saints Crispin and Crispinian, twins who were martyred c. 286. They are both the patron saints of cobblers, leather workers, tanners, saddlers and glove, lace and shoemakers.

(Saint Crispin's Day is probably the best day to post this anyway.)

The UK / Britain / England has been involved in so many conflicts over the centuries. We just had the 221'st anniversary of the battle of Trafalgar, where we beat a combined French & Spanish Fleet. Locally we have a Spanish licence built Bf-109 that displays throughout the summer.

My first fine TTRPGs, in the order I played them: 1. FASA Star Trek 2. TSR Gamma World 3. TFT 4. D&D 5. WEG Star Wars Iโ€™m not sure Iโ€™d name those last three under oath, since after getting my first taste, I was trying a little bit of everything I could find, but they were definitely in the mix

โ€œThere was a demon that lived in the air. They said whoever challenged him would dieโ€ฆ The demon lived at Mach 1 on the meter, 750mph, where the air could no longer move out of the way. One of my favorite films of all time. Fantastic score and use of classical music, amazing cinematography, great acting, and a triumph of practical sfx mixed with actual historical footage. If you have not seen it yet, do yourself a favor. You wonโ€™t be disappointed.

18 October 1979 Buck and Wilma conclude their mission against the Legion of Death. If that sounds like they are comic book villains, thatโ€™s because it was written by Alan Brennert. This episode also has at least three direct comic book references by the starport public address voice over.

Frank Gorshin plays a serious and mirthless leader of the Legion of Death who never comes close to the expression shown on the ad. The artist drew him to look like The Riddler though.
