im trying to brainstorm an idea for a minecraft build that is a storage-based EXP farm and I'm torn between three options. A Gas Station, A Fast Food Restaurant, or a Chain Cafe. I'm leaning to Gas Station since it can have a continence store attached to it which allows a hidden food farm inside

Whatever of those I pick I am intending to be impressively underwhelming of a choice for a 1-1 style recreation, if anyone has any ideas for underwhelming places let me know. this doesn't have to just be limited to US iconography either

when is it ok to treat Microsoft like they're not a serious competitor in the games industry anymore. i know more people who owned a Steam Deck than I do people with Xbox Series family of systems

You ever see a game and assume it's just a parody video game just to learn that it is, in-fact, totally real

šŸŒ™ After our Golf Session this afternoon, we though we'd surf until sundown tonight, staying with Nintendo GameCube & playing Kelly Slater's Pro Surfer Basically Tony Hawk Pro Skater at sea, which, coincidentally, features Tony as an unlock able character šŸ˜† Surfing fans? #GamersUnite #RetroGaming

Crazy how many robot manufactures have said robots be controlled with fucking Logitech game controllers with terrible ergonomics. If it works it works I guess and they're cheap controllers

Crazy how your body will just hit you with losing hearing in one ear for like two seconds before getting it back again like nothing ever happened. Only very concerning, like what did I need to update my sound drivers???

Cave Story is my favorite game and its influence rubs off on basically anything I do. It was fun to go back and play it on a period accurate piece of tech, though 50 tps Cave Story does mess with my muscle memory a lot lol

1) This isn't about generating games or assets with AI, it's just about using automation tools for some processes like bug testing which isn't inherently bad 2) IGN should be embarrassed for this headline. It doesn't say "AI generation" as in generative AI, it's 世代, "generation" as in "time period"

Decomps, Recomps, Fan-Ports, Compatibility Layers, and Emulation are all different things and not many people know their differences so lets go over them really quick. some details might be inaccurate and just false but as far as im aware this is how they all work with some lite search engine action

Recomps/Static Recompilation Projects which are the most confusing one of them all. Accurate human readable source code from a decomp is not required for a recomp as a recomp works by converting your original binary(i.e. rom) to something like C in a non-human eyes friendly format (1/2)

The Recomp software will then compile your newly acquired weird C code into a functional PC game with features injected from the recomp tool that was used (like a runtime). In theory these are easier to get initially running than a port but there's not really much documentation on it. (2/2)

Software Emulation is a task which a computer basically acts like another computer at the cost of more computational resources. This is by simulating the logic of the hardware that is needed to run the original software

Compatibility Layers, like Proton, your software intends to do something that requires something like windows specific features and then the compatibility layer points that in a direction that your hardware/software can actually perform and relay that back to your software correctly

Decomps/De-compilation projects are efforts done by fans to reverse engineer source code from a compiled binary (i.e. Rom file) with a goal of having a human understandable version compile to the exact same binary down to the byte or as close as possible. This is to achieve accurate source code

Fan-Ports use accurate de-compiled source code from decomps to adapt the software to run on different hardware natively as opposed to its original intended hardware. You still need the original binary because you need to pull game assets like textures and models into the port's compilation process

i cant write good oops, nevertheless i am mad about how MUCH fan-port culture has relied on AI to do what they deem to be dirty work and at the end of it they can't even really tell you how it works. aside from libraries, I can explain how and why anything in Louise works, no need to waste resources

i just recommended ship of harkinian and 2 ship too harkinian FUCKING YESTERDAY and its publicized they've been reliant on AI ffs fucking egg on my face. anything for the final product, all at the harm of people below your tax-bracket

ai ass 3ds fan-ports and avoiding old3DS compatibility go hand in hand i tell you. people that rely on AI to do their work never care to actually optimize something that can reasonably run on a piece of tech just because they wanna be the first person to do it f-zero x 3ds port, by proxy pc port

wanted to check it out because f-zero x is my favorite in the series, it kept crashing and i had assumed i did something wrong with where i put my dump files. but not i made a terrible assumption that this n64 game could be ported to a stronger piece of hardware.

ugh i need to learn C so i can do this shit myself, these ports are just made for the sake of the "author" saying they made it. rarely do you actually good a good ass port anymore from someone who truly loves their craft and chances are its a sonic game.

lost media is so lame dude Technically Nintendo Minute is not all lost, it was still available to watch officially on Facebook, but like, navigating Facebook to watch all of these dated Nintendo promos was an absolute shitshow. Many of the older episodes from 2013-2016 are seemingly lost to time...

archive.orgNintendo Minute (Aprox. 300 Episodes)Variable fidelitySome stuff is debatably unwatchable, but it's the best I gotIt's all within a .7z archive file, be weary of how long it might take to obtain these files, its almost 60 GB after allWhi...

Nintendo's attempt at capturing the growing demand for streamed media on social media is interesting, the red-tape the hosts had to navigate seemed like a nightmare and it's surprising it lasted 8 years. Hearing that Reggie green-lit the show without consulting his own higher ups is funny though.

I'm sure the rest are out there somewhere but I tried my best to compile as many episodes as I could in whatever fidelity I could find them in. Pretty sure I exhausted any searchable videos on Facebook, DailyMotion, and I kinda just pulled from an existing YouTube archive that wasn't on the site yet

Once we have a real ass full brain scan of someone's mind, hell will be real and it will be a kid making an amazing digital circus for themselves and all other things similar. An eternal agony of indescribable horror all for a gag. Fly brain scan in Minecraft
